Heather UK and Lenora Thanks so much for posting the long-term logging. Such a great reminder of a way to live instead of "on a diet and logging and then off the diet and not logging" - for me, I really need to have a way to live and stay off the dieting merry go-round! Logging is so much easier, too, now that we have our…

Hi everyone! We went to our community group last night. I was somewhat concerned about how to handle my eating. Do I eat dinner before to help me not eat there if others bring treats (I chose not to take anything with us), and then have to deal with wanting to eat when I get home or do I eat dinner after and hope to keep…

Hello, I feel like I am doing better on 1500 calories than I was on the higher amounts. I have been working on utilizing protein snacks first - seems to help me feel fuller and longer as well as cutting the craving for more. I am consistently exercising and like seeing that extra buffer for calories. I have make it three…

Good morning everyone! I had a pretty good day yesterday. After I ate my lunch, I was still thinking about eating (can I eat yet, when can I eat, how much can I eat - it was endless), so after waiting it out close to 2 hours, I buzzed a protein drink and ice in my bullet and took it with me went we went to the vet with our…

Yep still here - waiting patiently. I have reduced my goal from whatever MFP set, to 1800 and now to 1500, based on my dietitian recommendation. She actually suggested 1000-1200, but I will have to see how that goes. I am thinking that with the exercise it might be okay, but I'm going to see what 1500 does for me for now.…

Hi again! It looks like we are posting goals for June. I'm going to keep it simple. 1 - Continue logging to MFP 2 - Stay committed to my exercise plan 3 - Use my blog to journal 4 - Go to bed at night to sleep - not eat - last night was a SUCCESS! Lanette - I relate to your post about the caregiver and burnout. My husband…

I am still here and hoping for some members!! Right now, I am active at another group but am hoping that this group will get going. Today, I went to the dietitian - I had some initial hesitation due to someone at my knitting group telling me she went to the same clinic and had an awful experience. She told me they showed…

Today, I went to the dietitian - I had some initial hesitation due to someone at my knitting group telling me she went to the same clinic and had an awful experience. She told me they showed her a video and told her to eat like a diabetic, which she is not. Neither of those things happened to me, I'm happy to report. She…

Thanks for the warm welcomes!! I'm Louise and I live in North Las Vegas, NV - it actually is another city next to Las Vegas. My husband and I moved here 5 years ago from Prescott, Az. He is retired and I am not working but not so sure it is permanent. I'm 57. I have been logging my food for 12 days now, in anticipation of…

Hi everyone! I'm new to this group. I want to post an introduction but want to make sure I know what I am doing first. Are there guidelines here that I need to know about? Thanks! Louise

I have logged 10 straight days! That is a success and a real eye-opener, too. I am able to print these out for my dietician appt this week; I also get to see it for myself. Honestly, I kind of hate myself right now even though I am happy that I could log everything I am eating. I am eating way too much and way way too many…

I am still here hoping for some group members. Logging my food and exercising!

I tried this half-heartedly, for 2 days, but am thinking that I need to consider committing for five days after reading these posts. The website is www.5daypouchtest.com. There is also a Facebook page as well as other FB pages done by others.

Hello, I found this group and am looking for connections. I had surgery in 2008 - lowest weight 199 (for 5 minutes) from 335. I stayed steady around 220 for many years, never got to a goal weight or even to stay under 200. In the past couple years, weight is up - a week ago at 249 - yikes! I have been logging my food now…

Hi everyone (anyone?), I am looking for a group here on MFP - is this group still active or can we revive it? My short story - RNY in April '08 - max lost 130, but mostly stayed at 100 pounds lost for several years. In the past year or two I have steadily gained another 20 pounds. Dropping below that 100 pound loss is…

Marie, did you do the 5 day pouch reset? Very interesting what you said about taking in a lot of liquids to stay full and keep the cravings down. Is this group still active? Louise

I wore pants to work that the waistband was too tight...it mad me think about everything I was putting in my mouth. I am not going to make a habit of it, but it was an interest path today. I also got over 7,000 steps today!! I am an emotional and stress eater; let me just say, I am an overeater!! I have been working on…

I am thrilled to get over 5,000 steps the last couple days! Today, I got over 6,000 so upped my goal...

Hi Gail, I'm Louise. I so relate to your post! I had surgery 2008; max lost 130, have kept off 100 with fluctuations. I never got to goal and somehow I always seem to panic at getting to and/under 200# I hope we can connect!

It calculated me 15% lower than photo I selected...

Thanks for sharing your successes! I love this section, too!

Thank you! First thing today someone commented and asked me what I changed and I looked great! I really was not expecting anyone to notice, for me changing my routine somehow stopped the watery eyes; I did not change products, only the order and techniques.
-
Great news! Do you feel the difference, too?
-
Good for you! This is one of my biggest struggles. I am trying to track before I eat; I have noticed that I am turning to the food to stuff my feelings. Tracking helps me to "see" it better and at least make less damaging choices.

Too funny!

Congrats!! I want to get off the last of my bp meds; I know a lower weight and healthier body is the only way it will happen!

My NSV is self-care, or pampering... I had a makeup artist come over and renovate my routine. She showed me how to use the products I have and explained how to use my tools and then she did half my face step by step and then I did the other half. I really liked the results and felt like I for sure did something for me! My…

I totally relate to this! After I had WLS, I was constantly having my husband finish my food, then he started to gain weight. Sometimes I gave had the server bring me to-go box with my meal and I divvy up. I may need to remember those tricks. I hate leaving the food behind. Writing this out really makes me realize how much…

Awesome! For me, I would rather stretch it out and eat one a day....hang on to the good taste another day!

It is always good to talk about it...thanks for sharing! xoxo
