For holidays or events, I work out BEFORE I go AND if I am hungry I eat something lite to hold me over. That way I have most of my calories avail to eat my favorites; fried chicken (now reserved for special occasions), potato salad and whatever desert I want.

I like to make chicken salad (eat 4oz) and have with unsalted top saltines (11-15) and 4 oz of Motts Natural Applesauce (add cinnamon). 426 calories and quite satifying. Chunk Chicken Breast in a can Mayonnaise Mustard Relish Boiled eggs (optional) Seasoning of choice

There's this particular candy I used to enjoy; Smarties, they only consist of sugar and I couldn't eat just 1 pack, I had many. Watermelon....it is refreshing and plus 22 years ago (prego with first child), I got sick and NEVER ate it again until this summer. And I cannot get enough of it.... Apples are my second choice (same scenario as Watermelon). Grapes are my third choice.

I don't eat as soon as I get up, but later when I do, it's one packet of instant oatmeal. That's about 231 calories after I add a little margarine and cinnamon.

Don't fret, when I first started riding in May of this year, I could only do 15 min, then 30, and now at 1 hour. I will continue to push myself. You will get there.

Oh wow, I just started cycling for exercise (I was mostly riding 30 min to an hour a few days a week). I am glad to join in: June 36 miles July 80 miles Aug 150 mile goal (4 miles so far, better get moving)
