  • You can get grilled chicken or fish and steamed veggies at pretty much any sit down restaurant. Just veto the bread basket and make note (or ask) how the food is prepared. Watch out for cream sauces and buttery/greasy marinades...
  • What about walking around the mall?
  • I've tried to "guestimate" by breaking down the content of the roll ie. there is approx 1/2 cup of rice in most rolls and then go from there...1oz guacamole, cream cheese, shrimp etc. Hope that helps :)
  • My back and arms are my favorite right now. I love my boobs too...they were really expensive! Lol :)
  • Margaritas are my favorite, but now I try to only have a glass or two of red wine (8oz meausured max). I can justify my alcohol because red wine is good for my heart! Lol
  • mmmm Ben and Jerry! Lol
  • Referring to hypothyroidism and weight gain/loss (from the American thyroid association website) With special note to the last paragraph. http://www.thyroid.org/patients/brochures/Thyroid_and_Weight.pdf What is the relationship between hypothyroidism and weight gain? Since the BMR in the patient with hypothyroidism (see…
  • Oh, and I am definitely not saying its hard to resist temptations. I know it is! When it comes to sweet treats, my willpower seems non existent. All of us are human and will slip up from time to time. We just have to stop, realize we slipped up and refocus. Don't get bogged down on the guilt. Make your next meal after the…
  • Medications may increase your appetite, but only you can control whether or not you put the food in your mouth. My fiancee frequently buys unhealthy snacks and cooks high fat foods. I often get angry at him because he does this and it tempts me to eat these things. While I stick with the fact that it is inconsiderate of…
  • @ Stephanie...miss ya too girlie! :) and TY for the compliment!
  • I agree that there is WAY too much product endorsement! Also the fact that they are all apparently counselors now...kinda gets on my nerves.
  • Skim milk, wheat bread, bananas, pb2 <I eat this for breakfast nearly every day!
  • The pain is at the front of my knee. There are no mirrors directly in front of the treadmills to watch my gait, but I do notice when I use the elliptical machines I place my feet unparallel to each other and that feels more "right" to me than when they are in line (if that makes any sense?). I've tried new shoes and that…
  • I dip my baby carrots in it and sometimes use it as a spread on a sandwich instead of mayo.
  • The fact that nearly EVERY member of my immediate family is heavy or obese and many of them have major health problems. One of them even had gastric bypass and gained back all of the weight. I have been heavy and lost the weight, but find I can easily backslide and start to gain the weight back. Plus I want to be healthy…
  • Nearly ever night we had meat with rice and gravy plus seasonal veggies cooked with ham or bacon. For lunch on occasion we had potted meat sandwiches. We never had soda though, only water, skim milk, and sugar free Kool-aid. The meat was fresh from the local slaughter house or from our farm. At least we weren't exposed to…
  • Initially what set me off was seeing in my chart when at the doctor the words "obese female". I have never been THAT heavy again, but still struggle to keep off those pesky extra pounds. I will NEVER allow myself to be obese again!
  • It does have a chest strap and I put in all of my stats before. I am 34 years old, 5'7" 133 pounds and my resting heart rate is in the 50's. I usually work out at the gym, but on Saturdays I just use my treadmill at home. Can't run due to back issues...The heart rate monitor is a Polar 6.
  • If you go under food and then recipes, you can put the total amount of meat and sauce and then determine serving size and it will break down the calories and stuff for you.
  • LMAO!!! I can imagine someone saying that I am some weird machine stalker. The gym I go to has only one stepmill and I usually do that machine first because it is the hardest and I get the best burn. When I arrive in the morning and someone is on it I usually given them "the eye" and then find a machine right next to it…
  • There is an older woman at my gym that counts off her reps in German. Nothing against the language, but the tone and pitch she uses, sometimes I'm not sure if she's counting or having an orgasm. Its pretty disturbing and funny at the same time!
  • Trust me I know just how you feel! I have weighed over a hundred pounds more than I do right now and have been pregnant 4 times. Some peoples skin is more forgiving than others. I have made peace with several of my jiggly parts by filling them in with as much muscle as possible. I am still extremely self conscious about my…
  • I LOVE coffee too :drinker: ! I have reduced my caffeine intake recently because I found that when I didn't have it I got severe migrane headaches. Dr Oz (I love him too) said that dark roast coffee has alot of good anti oxidants. I have read time and time again that coffee is good before a workout too. If it has the…

  • Hi and welcome to the MFP community! :flowerforyou: I actually just posted something about back problems earlier. I had two herniated lumbar disks that were causing me SEVERE sciatic nerve pain down my right leg. The only thing I was able to do at the time was recumbant bike. If you know how to swim that would be good…
  • I like the steel cut oatmeal cooked slow on the stove with chopped up fresh apple, cinnamon and agave nectar...mmm think I'll have some for breakfast in the AM! Sometimes I add some liquid egg whites for extra protein to really fill me up. Sounds kinda gross, but it takes on the other flavors...walnuts are great too, but…
  • About the swimming...I actually have an in ground pool in my back yard that I never go in. I don't know how to swim. :embarassed: My fiancee taught swimming lessons for years. I am too embarrassed/self conscious to have him teach me...maybe this summer could be the one for me to suck it up and learn! I actually went to a…
  • At my thinnest ever I was 121 pounds. Right now I am 133. I am more "compact" now. At my lowest weight I did nothing but cardio and some light weights. I now do cardio and heavy weights. I wear a size 4 now and was never smaller than a 7 in juniors before. Better to be lean and firm than skinny/fat.
  • Lafayette, LA here too...never been to a planet fitness either. I go to a locally owned place that is 5 minutes from my house so I have noooo excuse not to go. Feel free to add me too :)
