  • Thank you all for your responses. From what I've read I've gathered that the main benefit of a low rep program such as 5x5 is better strength gains. I guess I'll continue what I'm doing now as I'm still lifting heavy for me (my deadlifts are currently 45kg/99lbs after 6 weeks), and I've seen a 5% reduction in body fat.…

  • Day 2 done. I'm getting better at the cardio bits and can do most of them without stopping but those side lunges are horrible.

  • Did day 1 today. Wow that was hard. I was so tired that I stopped about five times, but hopefully each time I do it I'll stop less often. I struggled most with the side lunges. Perhaps I wasn't doing them properly as it felt like more of a stretch than anything. Oh and gosh the knot in my stomach during the ab exercises!
