  • Hi Another Southern Softie from Cardiff, weigh day saturday so I'll let you know start weight then. Last weight-in I was 167lb and I'm 5ft 4. Feeling good about the team I'm in. Will be good for motivation to have a healthy competition - good old North/South divide! Thanks for arranging it! :flowerforyou:
  • They all sound yum! http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/low-sugar-low-fat-flapjacks http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=193759 These are flapjacks for us brits. Add as much fruit and seeds as you want. Banana and apple juice can be added for extra moisture...
  • Well done! Some weeks are easier than others. Nearly at your goal! 2lb for me this week, which is > 9% of my body fat now. I went for a run earlier, and feel good about it. I'm not pushing myself with exercise yet, I'll save that for when the weight stops coming off so easy. I'm doing a little every week, but I know I…
  • Thats great. If you feel like a runner, then thats exactly what you are! Keep it up.
  • I find it hard drinking water! Interesting to know that, hopefully it will spur me on... Will try extra hard tomorrow!

  • Congrats, its a good feeling. I don't yet have that, my clothes aren't fitting properly yet. I am up to the last hole on my belt, so I guess its just a matter of time. I'll just get a couple of cheap items to tide me over until I can afford to splurge.
  • You could go veggie, these tend to have less calories than meat dishes, if you get some pulses in you can get protein and fibre in one dish. I often order chana saag (chickpeas / spinach), or get something with lentils. Good for you and still yum. Avoid naan, and go for boiled rather than fried rice and it will be…

  • My mum isn't the greatest cook in the world, but she's definitely not the worst either. She tried to make sure there was a good balance between convenient food and proper home cooking, around 50-50 I'd say. She worked full time and was raising us on her own, so she did the best she could. There'd be turkey or beef burgers,…
  • Hello all Fellow southerner here. Isn't it great how the sun shines for 2 days in a row and positivity shines with it. I've already been for 2 really nice long walks. Looking forward to the weather getting warmer, so that I can enjoy the outdoors while burning calories. I lost a pound yesterday (after a trip to Belfast…
  • I think this guy sums up the night-time eating thing, and I think it stretches to your question. He basically says that it doesn't really matter what time you eat, that it balances out throughout the day anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTYeKT8QhLE Go for it whenever you want the treat, as long as you remain within…
  • Great info. Thanks.
  • If it isn't broke don't fix it! You're doing a great job by yourself and you're around for your children to see you do it. 42lb already is fantastic, and you met your target early. So you have proven that what your currently doing works. If you were struggling to motivate yourself into making the right choices and do…
  • Good luck all you guys out there who want to quit. I'm no quitter... At least not while I'm focusing on losing this weight! Step by step, goal by goal and I'll get where I want to be.
  • Hi Em I've often wondered the same. I've heard that eating snacks before bedtime can be bad because you end up not burning the calories off. Can anybody answer whether its better to treat yourself before or after a gym session? Many thanks Jagged and kloe 7 xxx
  • Bump. I am consuming between 1000 and 1200 calories a day and this is a very interesting read.
  • Hi Maggie Theres a great post already on this http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/113439-what-is-your-fav-slow-cooker-recipe In the UK a crock pot is a slow cooker... Good luck
  • Hi Em Do you wear a heart rate monitor? I've heard these can help you get out of your comfort zone, and get into the burn zone. I don't do enough exercise myself, 70 mins, 3 times a week is fantastic! Good luck Jagged
