  • Welcome to MFP! I hope it works for you :o) What is your current diet like? Do you eat alot of take-aways or packaged convenience foods? These can be really high in sodium. You can set your food diary (via tools - settings) to monitor your sodium intake. Most folk shouldn't exceed 2500mg sodium a day, but your limit is…
  • I make a lovely quinoa salad for lunch at work. Its simple to make, delicious and only 190 cal, with around 10g protien per serving. It will live in the fridge for a couple of days. Serves 4 100g quinoa 1 x veg stock cube roasted vegetables - carrot / onion / courgette / peppers (any combinations work well) Fry-Light 30g…
  • Could try hummous, I make my own. I haven't for a while, now theres a thought :o)
  • Cool. Don't be downhearted on the gain. You can't actually gain 5lb in a week, not with sensible eating and exercise. Your diary looks great. Just wait til your next weigh in. Skinny Gal is right, drink lots of water to flush any sodium out :o)
  • Hi. How much have you got to lose? I wouldn't worry about 5lb in a week. There could be any number of reasons for it. Sometimes too much sodium can make you retain water. But, if your exercising and watching what you eat, you should see a difference on the scales next week. Yum on the beef stew. If its homemade, have you…
  • I know how you feel. I am constantly surrounded by temptations in the office. Sometimes I cave in, sometimes I don't. When I do, I limit it, and try to think how much better I'll feel if I used those calories on substantial food rather than rubbish. Its about balance. I usually take a number of my own snacks with me, try…
  • I laughed so hard at this :drinker:
  • Don't beat yourself up about it. Just call it a slip up and move on. We all have to have a treat every now and again. The danger is when it becomes the norm and you stop caring how many gourmet chocolate apples you have. Thats when you should be worried. Hope you enjoyed it & don't panic, you deserved the treat.
  • Together? I have 1 brussel sprout for christmas dinner but thats all I can handle. For me I love toasted seeds & almonds. 0% fat greek yoghurt with a little bit of honey, and swapping everything possible for wholegrain.
  • Wouldn't normally but you seem nice & I love a good bandwagon. Best of luck, think you have it in the bag x :flowerforyou:
  • Hi Gandy I've had a look and I think you're diet looks good. Plenty of fresh food. A bit of junk food but totally in moderation, I wouldn't worry about it. I notice that you are averaging only around 1000 calories a day. I think your probably undereating and you've hit a plateau with your body holding onto the fat because…
  • Actually no, I think she was in the gym.
  • Make your diary public... 'settings - diary settings' and we'll have a look. Don't lose heart, your in the right place and theres lots of support available here. Drink lots of water and try to replace the junk food for more nutritious items. Are you exercising?
  • You can do it!!! Put your mind to it and don't let a minor slip become a complete fall from the wagon. Keep your focus on the dress and the mini goals. What is your current weekly goal to lose? If your at 2lb a week, it may help you to reduce this to 1lb a week. This will increase your calories and you will feel alot…
  • Totally agree the world has gone crazy for quick fix options, what happened to hard graft? Personally, I feel good when I stand on the scales, lose weight and I know I've earned it. I'm in this for the long haul, I don't see this journey as a chore, but rather its an education that MFP is facilitating. Diet pills and…
  • Thanks Bathsalts, I have had many treats along the way, just far more balanced and planned than my previous lifestyle. Its like Dtrmnd86 says, as long as its within your calorie limit its ok. Tomorrow I'm going for a big splurge, a greek restaurant, I'm probably going to go over esp as its so difficult to log non chain…
  • Good on you. Sometimes you have to have a treat. As long as you are aiming toward a target, its ok to spoil yourself when you hit a milestone. I have a list of things that I mentally tick off and then the craving is gone... Cheezits? I have no idea what they are. My next treat is a big mac. I haven't had one since January…
  • I agree with Libby & Bettywillow. Maybe your routine just needs a shock to wake your metabolism up. You're doing everything right, good clean diet, with no excessive binges, alot of cardio exercise. You've lost body fat, have you tried changing the batteries in your scales?
  • I think I 'borrowed' it from one of your previous posts... But by all means borrow it back x I want to point out that the before pic is a fabulous photo of you, to put it into context your are pulling that face because for that moment you were a rockstar, banging out a cracking solo. I didn't realise that this was the…
  • Thinspirational!
  • Add a tablespoon of honey and any fruit you fancy, like banana or strawberries. I sometimes take the time to sweeten it up with stewed apple, pear or plums. I love it with plain honey, and I use total fat free greek yoghurt.
  • A 2lb loss for me this week. Go Softies!
  • Thanks Rosy. This really is great inspiration... I'm going to make sure I work hard so that I don't let the softies down! I have alot of calories to burn this week to offset the Carvery I had earlier. Ooops!
  • Don't worry about it Zuzanna, your body needs to get used to the exercise. The weight loss will naturally get back on track x Good luck with the 30ds!
  • 2lb loss for me this week. Go softies. Ros, I have no idea how I gave you the wrong height, but I'm 5ft 5.
  • On days I think I'm going to be short on Fiber, I just add frozen peas. Thats easiest. But you could try getting some canned beans like kidney or black eye, baked beans are good but they can be high in sugar.

  • Unfortunately, no weight loss for me this week. I stayed the same at 166lb. My BMI dropped but not enough for a lb loss. Will work hard next week, I don't want to let the southern softies down.
