  • My doctor did a blood test to check for PCOS, though admittedly it's not conclusive (or wasn't 15 years ago anyways!) as there's no one thing that they can look for to say you do/don't have it, they just have to look at your hormone and blood sugar levels and such like that. They also of course go on any symptoms you have,…
  • Yup, and embarassingly he's 6' 7" where I'm only 5' 7" :-$ I have 3 stone on him currently, yikes. I did lose 7 stone about 5-6 years ago though and managed to get below him, but I was only there for about a year before it all went a t*ts up and I re-gained the weight!
  • Hi Amanda, I'd love to a MFP buddy with you or anyone else, feel free to friend request me :-) I was diagnosed with PCOS going on 15 years ago now, struggled with my weight though for as long as I can remember :-/ Was on meds for my PCOS originally which helped me to lose a bit, but they gave me stomach troubles so had to…
  • When I got to my lowest weight about 7-8 years ago, I just about managed to get into a size 14. I'm 5' 7" and was about 190 lbs then, but my friend who is 5' 6" and weighed about 2 stone less than me then was also a size 14 so I guess every body is different!!
  • Friend request accepted :-)
  • Seriously I really am shocked at some of the responses this post has gotten, I'm not surprised Adarsta feels attacked!! I too was prescribed Orlistat a few months ago by my doctor, I like Adarsta have a medical condition which means that it's very hard to lose weight the normal way. I know this particularly well as 8 years…
  • I'm a J cup and haven't yet managed to find one in my size so when I go to the gym I'm forced to just wear 2 bras to try and hold the gals in place :-( If anyone knows of any [decent ones] out there that go up to a 42J then I'd be grateful, otherwise I guess I'll just have to wait until I lose more weight. When I lost…
  • My fave is sweet potato, chilli and chicken soup, yum yum! Everyone I've made it for loves it :-D It isn't THE most low fat soup as it has coconut milk in it, but I use the light one and the recipe I use makes 4 portions. One portion comes out about 390kcals, 11g fat and has about 3-4 portions of veg in it so still pretty…
  • Gloucestershire here. I'm here for the long haul so would be happy for another MFP friend! :-)
  • I chose it because it's my favourite picture of me (albeit it's me at probably around my lowest weight so a good 8 years and 7 stone ago!), I use it for all my social networking and IM accounts!
  • I weigh myself once a day, at the same time of day. I only enter my weight once a week on MFP though. I found weekly weigh-ins to be disheartening because your weight can vary so much from day to day which you don't see with a weekly weigh-in, but with daily weigh-ins I can see the trend better without it affecting me :-)…
  • Funnily I just joined about an hour or two ago! I didn't even realise there were groups on here until this morning :-D
  • Hi, and hi to everyone else on here with the same problems, seems like there are a lot of us!! I was diagnosed about 14 years ago, initially I was put on metformin for the insulin resistance and the contraceptive pill to help with some of the symptoms, unfortunately I had to come off of the pill because it affected my…
  • Loops England, UK Start Weight - 291lb Lost - 15lb as of this morning Goal Weight - 175lb ish or a size 14 (may seem a little high still but I am quite tall, and from when I lost weight before I was wearing a UK 14 at about 188lb and felt like I was very close to my goal then, so would just like to go a bit further, and…
  • My doctor suggested a few months ago that I try Orlistat/Xenical (same as Alli but a higher dose) as I have PCOS which makes it very hard to lose weight, though I have managed it in the past but that was with a LOT of exercise which I can no longer do as I have Psoriatic Arthritis in most joints on my right side. She felt…
