  • In again. Going for 120.
  • Thanks all! Last weekend's half was the first time in many years that I was happy with a race and really enjoyed it. I think being a part of these challenges and MFP have really helped me realign my nutrition with my training. And yes, that last hill was brutal! I ran 5.75 of hills this morning. Brings my January total to…
  • Beautiful! And very impressive! 3100 ft elevation gain is no joke. I have been re-discovering trail running lately as well. Like you I am blessed to have some amazing trails around me to run. I will have to share some pictures later.

Not a PR but faster than I have done one in…
  • @ayalowich - I haven;t figured out the ticker either. :p great runs for you though! @Runningmischka - Awesome that you are running thru your pregnancy. I managed to run until about 30 weeks with mine and it makes the recovery that much easier after you have him/her. Rest day for me.
  • The Mai Tei is really pretty! We use an Oyna now. Our Ergo bit the dust last year after 4+ years of extensive use. Vegan Bettie - I tried to wrap my toddler last week when I realized I didn't have the Oyna with me. Epic fail! I loved the woven when they were infants but I have never mastered any sort of back carry for the…
  • I am a long-time babywearer as well. My girls are 2 and 5. I mostly wear my youngest for longer walks and hikes now and not as often as I would like since I work full-time outside of the house. You can try to add some low-impact exercises in to your walks. i.e do step-ups onto a low bench or log, do a few lunges while out,…
  • @skippygirlsmom - Wishing you a speedy recovery! take care of yourself I ran 6 this am for a total of 88.5 total/100 goal. (I really need to figure out this whole ticker thing! ;) )
  • I had no idea the bridge was sloped even though we have driven across it many times too. I have always thought of it more as an arch. I am hoping it won't be too foggy but know it can be hit or miss especially with the run being so early and no time for the fog to burn off. Either way though it is going to be exciting!…
  • I've done the SF half (well 1st half of the full!). Great course finishing in GG park. That time of year it is hit or miss on how foggy it is going over the bridge. Some years you get great views and other years you can barely see in front of you. The 1st time I ever ran across the bridge I was surprised that it was…
  • I am doing my "bucket list" marathon this April - Big Sur. I am not a marathoner (generally stick to halfs) and thus this will probably be my one and only marathon. It is a local race for me. I keep going back and forth between sheer excitement that I am actually going to do it, and sheer fear that I am actually going to…
  • @shanaber - Fun and great job! I had a cople of friends that ran that half as well and enjoyed it. @ohhim - amazing PR! I am feeling a better as long as I am very careful about what I eat. I ran a nice, easy 5 miler this morning. Tapering for the half! Date Miles Total 1-Jan 10 10 3-Jan 10 20 4-Jan 10.5 30.5 6-Jan 7 37.5…
  • 7 miles today- total of 77.5/100. I have a stomach bug now! Hopefully a fast recovery as I have a half marathon next Saturday with my mom.
  • Ran 3 miles in the am yesterday and then ended up running 4 more in the evening with my mom. Brings me to 70.5miles for the month (100 mi goal) And I agree with all the bathroom talk! I know where every public bathroom is around my town (and the hours they are open). :p
  • You can add me. I have always been a runner however I am venturing into new territory and doing a marathon in April. It is hard at times to fit in running with being a mom and working full-time but I have found that the more I run, the better mom I am. You get a chance to clear your head, focus on you instead of them for a…
  • I haven't checked in lately. Oops! Miles Total 1-Jan 10 10 3-Jan 10 20 4-Jan 10.5 30.5 6-Jan 7 37.5 7-Jan 5 42.5 10-Jan 13 55.5 13-Jan 8 63.5 63.5/100 goal.
  • You should be fine with 9 this weekend. I agree with pp and would do 2-3 very easy miles on Friday before the race. Just enough to get your legs loosened up. Good luck and enjoy!
  • Miles Total 1-Jan 10 10 3-Jan 10 20 4-Jan 10.5 30.5 6-Jan 7 37.5 7-Jan 5 42.5 42.5/100
  • While drinking/hydration may not be neccesary to all people I find that I get severe headaches after anything over 10 miles if I don't hydrate during my run. I agree that you shouldn't stress about it though. It is just a matter of trial and error. You have to do what works best for you and your body. I should add that I…
  • Miles Total 1-Jan 10 10 3-Jan 10 20 4-Jan 10.5 30.5 6-Jan 7 37.5 37.5/100 7 miles with intervals today. Felt awesome!
  • Great job on your run! For water try one of the hand held bottles. I ran 10.5 with a 12oz one from amphipod and loved it. Not annoying like I thought it would be. I also have a belt but it isn't very comfortable for me. I admire all of you who run in the cold/snow. It has been around 30-40 degrees all week here on my runs…
  • 01/01 - 10 miles 01/02 - rest 01/03 - 10 miles I met a new running friend during my crazy trail run who is training for the same Marathon in April as I am. We ran 10 together today and worked really well together. I am getting excited for training now!
  • I missed my December goal (89 miles out of 100). I am determined to get there for Jan! I started the new year off with a crazy 10-mi trail run complete with traversing caves and jumping across creeks. Only 90 more miles to go!
  • Hello! I am Brie and live in Monterey, CA. I have 2 little girls (2 &5) and work full time. I have always been in fairly good shape however each pregnancy left me with about 5-10lbs of baby weight. Though at this point I can't really blame them! I got serious this fall and lost about 8 lbs. I would like to lose 5-10 more…
  • Yay! I just posted in the December thread that I was looking forward to the January one. :D I am going to go for 100 miles again. Then maybe up it for Feb!
