  • This! Just like if you are a hair dresser and your hair looks like crap, you aren't going to touch mine.
  • awesome, just awesome!! Do you know you look sooooooooo much younger now? So much! I love your story, especially the parts about the scale and the group eat more to weigh less. Congrats!
  • there is a group out there called eat more to weigh less or something like that. Same premise....or close enough.
  • I have no issue with paleo or primal as a healthy way of eating as long as you don't severely limit your healthy carbs such as fruit, veggies and good for you starches. Carbs are the preferred fuel source, especially if you workout. The problems with the forums is the cultish behavior. I'd be really careful in drastically…
  • This is exactly why women should lift and lift heavy! This doesn't have to happen. Only if you let it. Calorie restriction does mess up hormones. Lyle McDonald writes a lot about this issue with women and calorie restriction or huge deficits.
  • I have followed Go Kaleo for years and seen her ups and downs. I also read her book. While I find her book great, I can see how it is hugely misinterpreted. Her message is that she always thought she should weigh less than 160 and worked her tail off to weigh less. It just made her feel worse and worse. So while she hangs…
  • I always feel better eating fresh fruit, veggies, meat (lean or not) and a few servings of cottage cheese a day. I am feeling horrid today too, I have a stomach bug. Eating outside of my norm really takes its toll on me and I have just learned it isn't worth it.

My face also looks horrid and I get black circles and baggy eyes. I would rather eat processed-to-the-end-of-the-earth-and-back white bread before I touched a piece of whole wheat bread…
  • This! If you aren't measuring then you really have no idea if the numbers you are working with are correct.
  • It can be considered overtraining. It can also be considered dangerous. Walking around a CrossFit gym with any kind of brace, cast is like a badge of honor. While I loved it, I decided there are better ways to bang up my body.

  • I live in Florida. My gym is ON the beach. I find the number of people walking on treadmills to be baffling. I prefer to walk run on the beach and sand will get your bum in shape very quickly. Fresh air vs. stinky gym? I find it even more baffling the high percentage of people who utilize the tanning beds..... in Florida.…
  • and another side effect is joint pain, mostly in my knees.
  • I get the same way. :( The good news is depending on the qty, it lasts an afternoon or evening. Bad news is that I have often had it last 3-4 days.
