I am fortunate to have so many failures in my life because without them, I would not have any successes. First of all, accept yourself as you are. 19 is an age where you get some extra fat. It is part of being a woman. I chose NOT to fight the hormonal weight gains, (but I AM fighting a large gain now that I have…

I bought a scale and weigh every day. I am AMAZED at how my MFP numbers accurately report which days will result in weight loss!

Love this! Clearly, there is nothing unattractive about this woman. Don't sweat the stretchmarks. They make you more interesting. They are like a roadmap of your life.

Stay positive. The nifty thing about these bazillion reports is that they reveal patterns. I have also yoyo-ed. I think my son pegged that I was going too low on protein. Figure out your trends and keep the faith that you WILL reach your goals.

Yup. I was fit at 137 before menopause hit. I went over 200 and did not fight it. Now that I am officially a crone, I am here on MFP. Gonna get down to about 160. Hang in there. Hormones take their toll. Learn to adjust.

I also gained weight in perimenopause (70 lbs.). You are doing all the right things. You may not really be able to control the hormonal weight gain. You are wise to add muscle that burns more calories. Stay the course and don't sweat the extra weight.

Since I was a smoker, I hit menopause early. Perimenopouse started around age 50 and brought me 70 lbs. (I gained the same during pregnancies.) I let hormones take their course, and I am only now battling this new kind of fat - ugly dimples. I have now achieved menopause and am eating healthy and exercising much more…

I am just starting out and learning, learning, learning. I am a true desciple of MyFitnessPal.com. I invite friends! I would love to have a more personal experience on my home page - usually the only page I visit daily.

I have yo-yoed in my 52 years. I believe that reducing your calories too low results in your metabolism adjusting my slowing down and burning fewer calories. Thus, I recommend NOT going too low.

Age 52. Height 5' 9" CW: 186 GW: 150 (still flexible) Desire for better health, lower blood pressure, ability to be more active without pain.

Way to go!! WOOT WOOT. Thanks for the motivation to stay on course. :glasses:

You look great! Muscle adds beautiful contour to any size, so don't fear it. (I was once 5.10, but I had tone as a young athlete.)

Fresh berries + plain greek yogurt + drizzle honey + granola + flax + rolled oats. YUM.

By age 52, now a crone, I hit 200 lbs. and my blood pressure went way up for the first time in my life. I have started jogging (while my knees hold out) and biking. I love my red wine far too much. :drinker:
