Oatmeal - sadly the factory processing that makes instant oatmeal "instant" also flushes a lot of the nutritional value out of it. Would you like to tell us about your goals? What do you have in mind? Short term or long term?

I'm avoiding high glycemic index carbs unless I need them, for example, when I'm out on an all-day bike ride need a constant supply of energy for the hills. So bread, white rice, potatoes are out. I love 'em too. But until I reach my goal then they're pretty much off the menu.

As they've said above - take it one day at a time. You've made a fantastic step forward by joining MFP and opening up. Now... don't lose sight of your goal. Ever.

Could you explain more, please? I'm still confused about this. If I eat healthily (which I'm doing for the first time ever), exercise well, and end up with a big calorie deficit, how is that bad? If I were HUNGRY I'd understand, but I actually feel really good.
