YES-- THIS^^^^^ I feel you... I am constantly experimenting trying to find my "groove". Regain can just be a part of the process to figuring out what works and what doesn't. I think your plan to get more rest is awesome. Meal planning too, as it might help you get more nutritive options in as much as possible to get your…

Great advice here! I was doing HFLC and really enjoyed it, but lately have been feeling a pull towards increasing my plant-based foods... not sure why, but I am going with it! Overall, I think Rob's point (and others who posted after him) is a good one-- you will need to find what works for you. It can be hard to increase…

LOVE this idea!! Ok... so for me, it is about being able to SHOW UP more for my life--- I can live with less fear-- fear of breaking chairs, fitting in booths, being able to walk as far as I might need to, being able to fit in airplane seats, being able to feel good about having my picture taken-- ALL of it. I also have to…

I didn't really think about it. These muffins are so good, it is totally worth it!
-
I think they would be GREAT as savory muffins-- go for it!!

I got home last Tuesday. By Saturday I was feeling pretty human. Still a little sore if I move around too much and I tire easily, but other than that I am good!
-
I am with you. LC living and making sure I am staying on track is hard enough without having to make my own lard-- GEEZ.

I stay away from "frankenfood" as much as possible. Every once in awhile if I get a mad craving, I will get the "Atkins" version (like PB cups or something)- but it is very rare. I find real food works best. :)

How fun and exciting!! Congrats on your NSV and being able to do all of those steps!! I am so glad you are having a great time. I have said over and over the biggest benefit of losing a lot of weight is being able to really LIVE- and you are experiencing that! Woohoooo!

Wow. How courageous of you to share your story. Sounds like you have been through so much. For me, this has been as much an internal journey as an external one. Lots of inner changes have happened for me over the last 18 months, and like you, I have found that my food/weight struggles had very little to do with…

No groupies! We are all journeying together. :)

And you absolutely WILL get there- I have no doubt! :) <3

The headaches appear to be getting better slowly... less pain every day. I think they were just from my body being so out of whack. Very little pain from the surgery, but man do I tire out quick. Looking forward to getting my energy back-- and my appetite. Just don't feel like eating. I do it, but it takes effort. Blech.

It is so hard to find that balance between helping and taking responsibility for another. I know you want him to be healthy SO MUCH. It has been my experience my hubby cannot read my mind...I have to be very clear and specific and leave nothing to interpretation or inference. If you are feeling overwhelmed, it might be…

TY on both counts- you are right- probably body-stress related. Very much appreciate the head's up on the vinegar- I was considering adding apple cider vinegar to my regimen as it is supposed to be good for cleansing/healing-- but will steer clear of it. :)

Ok. Well, you are most welcome (she said, feeling a little silly!).

I know you want to be supportive, but it doesn't sound to me like he is taking much responsibility for adopting this WOE. If he needs grab and go ideas, it might be good for him to research them and then buy/prepare the items needed. If he is unable to do that because he is not "handy" in the kitchen, then he could ask for…

So sorry for your struggles. It can be frustrating and anxiety provoking when we experience overwhelming feelings. When I am experiencing overwhelm I find it very helpful to focus on my breathing. Just stop and notice my breath going in and out for a few minutes. Bringing myself to the present moment, reminding myself that…

So far, so good. I have been able to eat meat, butter, cheese, almond butter, and yogurt (full fat) without a problem. My meals are rather small at this point- I only had surgery 4 days ago- but my appetite is slowly returning. Feeling rather wiped out much of the time, but minimal pain. I keep having headaches, though-…

I am only 18 months out... so not a "long timer" so to speak. I am sorry you are struggling. I would DIE if I only allowed myself 1100 cals. OMG. I have found it far better to go lowcarb-- it lets me eat more cals and still maintain my weight-- plus it is SO YUM. You might want to consider that option. I adhere to a…

Rob-- I am sure you meant to post something here ^^^^.... but it is not showing up! I don't want to miss your thoughts.... so what did you write?
-
I think I answered you on another thread, but I will do it here...you might want to have your iron levels checked. :)

Sounds med-related. Maybe your dr. can switch you to a different sleep aid?
-
I spend a good bit of time on low carb high fat board (LCHF) and much of the talk over there re: no weight change after increasing cals. or even seeing a gain initially is because the body is healing and learning how to metabolize differently. I don't know if you are going so low carb as to be in ketosis- and I am not sure…

Rob, As you know maintenance has presented its challenges for me, too. I listened to a podcast where the speaker was talking about life post VSG and how maintenance is a process. Sometimes you gain some weight back, then make adjustments to lose it, then get a little "off track" again here and there, then make more…

What a LOVELY pic! You both look so happy! :)

Very good to know-- TY!

Don't mean to "steal" the thread... but I have found higher fat, moderate protein and low carb has been a great way to go. Suppresses hunger, I get to eat REALLY yummy stuff, and I can have higher calories without gaining (I am at maintenance right now). I usually weigh around 166-173 and can have between 1800-2200 cals…
