That's a lot of calories in on day, and it's making you ill. Your eating behavior, and the mind games you are playing on yourself around food, sounds like an eating disorder. I suggest you contact a new doctor and ask for a referral to a dietitian and/or eating disorder program. By the way--there is nothing wrong with…

The best diet is the one that does not require eliminating food and that can be sustained long term. Eat real food and stay in a calorie deficit and you will lose weight no matter what diet you do.
-
I love that phrase!! LOL! I don't have an answer to your question, though. :) Just interested in the answers.
-
I understand. With more movement at upped calories, you ended up burning enough calorie to lose weight.
-
You need to go to the doctor. It may have nothing to do with your eating habits.

If it appears your lose weight when increasing calories it's either (1) you're eating less than you burn but you just don't realize it or (2) natural weight fluctuation. Starvation mode is a myth as to us ordinary dieters. Eating 10X your weight to get to maintenance is silly. My weight fluctuates between 140 and 145 lbs,…

Here's the deal, Vicky. :) Yes, raspberry keytones will work just fine as long as you eat at a calorie deficit. No, raspberry keytones will not work at all if you do not eat at a calorie deficit. A calorie deficit is the only thing required to lose weight, everything else outside of that is preference. Raspberry keytones…

I also had a friend who ate one meal a day and gained a lot of weight. That's because that one meal contained more calories than she burned. Goes to say...same with your friend too, and everybody else who eats more calories than they burn, whether it be one meal a day, or several. Eating more meals a day does not boost…

This is an excellent point.

At your size, you will lose on 2400 calories a day. If that were way more food than what you usually you, you would not have gained weight. Just ensure that you have accurate entries and are logging all your food, and stay within your calorie goals, and you will lose weight. Pay attention to the sage advice given to you by…

Ha....... :D

Yes. Pure scam. Of course you are getting positive feedback on Facebook, because those ads are set up to grab people who believe in that crap. Save your money and eat at a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. :)

Welcome! I like you already, and I'm sure your wife absolutely loves you! P.S. with your title, that had better be your wife with you in the profile picture. Just sayin....... :D
-
Nope. That is not realistic. As you get smaller you will need to lower your calorie defict, and weight will come off slower.

This is not an accurate way to come up with calories because it's too general and does not take into account activity level, age, gender. If I followed this to lose .5 a week, the calculation comes out to 200 calories less per day than what is truly accurate. For me: 140 lbs x 12 = 1680 1680-250=1430 per day to lose .5…

Nope, there is no reason to avoid any food unless your doctor tells you to for a medical reason. To lose 20 pounds in such a short time is not sustainable. The reason you've lost weight is because you've eaten less than you burn.

What are your stats? How much do you have to lose overall? Summertime is officially mid June, and this is mid February- this is about 18 weeks, which would be a little over pound a week. If you are obese, or quite a bit overweight, this might be healthy and sustainable. However, if you are closer to a normal weight, this…

Oh gosh, I can so relate. I don't bake cookies because I'm doomed cause of cookie dough, but I can buy a bag of cookies at the market and moderate them just fine.
-
How long were you taking these meds? I agree with the person who said it's a good idea to talk with your doctor about your psych meds- going off them cold turkey might be causing your sleeplessness.
-
Why would anyone hate you for this? I think it sounds like a great meal. :)

I have the same issue. On Sunday, I've been known to cook up a week's worth of oatmeal in my crock pot. Weekday morning, pop it into the microwave, add fruit and milk, and ready to eat!
-
Understood. How well do you do with full fat yogurt, and someone else suggested nuts. Maybe start with just a bit and see how well you can tolerate the food. Perhaps your doctor can refer you to a nutritionist who can help you work through your eating plan to make sure you are getting adequate calories.

So glad you figured out what is going on.
-
Yes. Food that I am intolerant to, or those that I just don't like.

Yes, I lost weight without surgery and have maintained in my weight range. I bulked for five pounds, and am now cutting. Set point is a myth, in my opinion. In other words, if you want to lose weight all you need to do is eat at a calorie deficit and you will lose weight.
-
But, even so, a person eating 1200 calories or less will lose weight, and your body does not hold onto weight. Starvation mode is a myth in the way you describe.
-
Muscle building does not just happen. People who want to build muscle do so intentionally, and even then it's difficult to do.
-
You never eat more when you are not already losing. You only increase your calories if you are (1) already losing weight and (2) you want to continue to lose weight but at a slower rate. A calorie deficit is required to lose weight, so if you are eating more food then you were eating less calories overall.
-
Nope. Carbs in and of themselves don't cause weight gain. It's the overall calorie surplus that makes us gain weight. There is nothing at all wrong with carbs and sugar. Just like everything else, moderation is key. You are no losing weight because you are eating more than you realize. Do you weigh your food? Measure your…

Even with a thyroid condition, between 1,000 and 1,200 is too low. Minimum for women is 1200 calories.
