I like this approach. :)

I disagree. Technically, weight loss is dependent on eating less calories than you burn. There are indeed medical conditions that can slow down weight loss, but that does not mean CICO is still not the man factor to losing weight, it just means that you have to find that calorie deficit sweet spot. If you suspect you have…

I think we can get ourselves into trouble with labels because clean eating or flexible eating may not be the same for any two people. You simply need to come up with a food plan that helps you best reach your goal to lose weight. Weight loss is accomplished via a calorie deficit. So, you will lose weight no matter what you…

Excellent advice from peop. The thing about having more weigh to lose is that you can eat more and still lose weight. That's the gift in avoiding those 1200 calorie diets. :)

But, I was not responding directly to you, I was responding to the person who basically asked why the picture was posted. It looks like you removed most of the prior text in the post.

Well, it certainly shows that one is bigger than the other, even though they weigh the same. If you put a pound of feathers next to a pound of bricks, your whole room could be filled with feathers (aka fat) while the brick (aka muscle) takes up this teeny weeny corner....hidden behind all that fat. Same with muscle (aka…

Gosh, I love your postings!

That's silly. Cut out dairy if you have an allergy or intolerance to it. Otherwise, eat high quality, low quality or medium quality dairy, your choice. No food is good or bad, it's just all food.

My profile picture is me.....meow, meow ;)

I am so sorry.

Wait a minute. You won't listen to your doctor and endocrinologist, but you'll take the advice of a "professor"? Your dentist is also giving advice on an area where he/she does not practice? I am genuinely confused about this. Presuming that the NHS referred to here is the National Health System in England, it seems to me…

I concur with this.

You're missing the point. No matter what you do, in order to lose weight you are doing CICO. You may not be literally counting those calories, but you are eating at a calorie deficit. Otherwise, you would not lose weight.
-
No. The real determining factor of whether keto will work for you is to eat a keto diet. If you can maintain a calorie deficit, it works. If you can't maintain a calorie deficit, it doesn't work.
-
That's wonderful that you and your wife have found a way to limit your calorie intake to lose weigth. For you, it sounds like keto works wonderfully. However, the only magic keto or any other diet has is the magic the individual gives it. No matter what diet you do, you still have to consume less calories than you burn to…

Hi Victorious, I've been following along here, and it certainly sounds as if you are going through some struggles. If you need to lose the weight for brain surgery, and you need to lose it quickly, it seems to me that your doctor should have you working with closely with a dietitian to accomplish this. It seems to me you…

That's right, it doesn't.

This right here (in bold) is the answer.

@Yokamoccha, you are setting yourself up. Doing nothing but juices will keep you in the bathroom because of diarrhea. When you juice only, you miss essential fiber. There is no reason to cleanse because your body naturally does that all by itself. Your plan is not sustainable at all. I suggest that you still have a juice…

Nicole, I am really sorry you are feeling this way. However, it bears noting that a person's feelings belong to themselves only and that nobody else can actually make us feel a certain way. In life, and especially in internet interactions, it's important to own our own feelings. I say this as a person who lived for years…

I am in agreement with this. Eat what you like now, just less of it. Also, make sure you have a progressive wight lifting program so that you maintain muscle mass as you cut. Lesson learned: you now know that this last bulk method was not the best program for you because you did not get the results you wanted.

I concur with this. Also, there is no comparison to be made between dehydration and starvation mode. The former is real, the latter is not. Starvation means one is emaciated and has lost a significant amount of body weight and lean muscle mass. Starvation mode does not exist, at least not to the common dieter, and…

Of course....that's the beauty of humor. :)

Oh, I love bodybuilders. They are my eye candy at the gym.....and the entire gym loves them.
-
I'm glad you are open minded. I must say I get giggle when people say they wash their fruits and vegetables, therefore they are eating clean.
-
Sigh...? This made me smile. ;) Dehydration is real, starvation mode as to us ordinary dieters is not, and someone who is bulking has no chance of starving. Yes, if someone is truly starving (as in Minnesota Starvation Experiment) then they may not be drinking enough water and be dehydrated, but the starvation here is from…

I don't understand the statement I have put in bold. You can't tell by how someone looks whether they eat clean. I used to eat loads of fruits, vegetables, no added sugar, no sodas, low fat, and I gained weight, but nobody could tell that by looking at me. In fact, I'm pretty sure their impression was that I was eating a…

You are equating dehydration to starvation mode? ;) The former is real, the latter is not. OP, if you are bulking (gaining weight) then chubby cheeks might be part of that for you due to genetics. I'll bet you when you do your cut the chubby cheeks will disappear. :)

The bold part is the inaccurate part.
