  • Oh, I love bodybuilders. They are my eye candy at the gym.....and the entire gym loves them.
  • I'm glad you are open minded. I must say I get giggle when people say they wash their fruits and vegetables, therefore they are eating clean.
  • Sigh...? This made me smile. ;) Dehydration is real, starvation mode as to us ordinary dieters is not, and someone who is bulking has no chance of starving. Yes, if someone is truly starving (as in Minnesota Starvation Experiment) then they may not be drinking enough water and be dehydrated, but the starvation here is from…
  • I don't understand the statement I have put in bold. You can't tell by how someone looks whether they eat clean. I used to eat loads of fruits, vegetables, no added sugar, no sodas, low fat, and I gained weight, but nobody could tell that by looking at me. In fact, I'm pretty sure their impression was that I was eating a…
  • You are equating dehydration to starvation mode? ;) The former is real, the latter is not. OP, if you are bulking (gaining weight) then chubby cheeks might be part of that for you due to genetics. I'll bet you when you do your cut the chubby cheeks will disappear. :)
  • The bold part is the inaccurate part.
  • People are not saying that nutrition is not important, they are saying it's irrelevant when it comes to the mechanics of weight loss. In other words, you can't eat all clean while eating at a surplus and still lose weight, nor can you eat unclean and at a calorie deficit and gain weight. Yes, nutrition is important but…
  • What? Post your peer reviewed studies for these, please.
  • Taco meal is not a cancer meal, it's a meal....and it's the only meal for some people because it's fairly cheap. What you don't like is someone else's favorite. No food is good or bad, it's all just food. ;)
  • I know you have probably already heard this, but while clean eating may be your thing it has nil to do with actual weight loss. Weight loss is strictly calories in, calories out. Why are you trying to lose weight when you are not overweight? In fact, you are at the low end of a healthy weight range.
  • This is my experience as well. I think it's rare to see adults out there on pavement running barefoot, but kids love it! I sure loved to run on pavement when I was a kid. I really love running on the treadmill, but with good running shoes. Now, I'm in admiration of anyone who can run without shoes on.
  • Well, it all comes down to preference and whether you can tolerate running barefoot on a hard surface. Personally, I live in a larger city and I've never seen anyone running barefoot on the pavement...and there's a lot of runners here. ;)
  • Normal walking, I'm barefoot as well. Love the feel of the ground under my feet. :)
  • I've never broken a bone running before, but I know if I try to run barefoot my feet literally hurt. I just imagine a treadmill barefoot run might make it worse.
  • It seems to me the bottom of one's feet might get chaffed. Running barefoot on a treadmill must place a lot of stress on one's feet because there's no traction from shoes.
  • Seriously? You run barefoot on a treadmill? That is not safe.
  • It's about what works best for you. I run outside, but I so most of it on the treadmill. Yesterday when running, while I had the right-of-way in two crosswalks at intersection lights, two drivers in two different areas ran red lights right in front of me. I gave one lady a dirty look and she laughed. Some dude had his cell…
  • You have the control, the choice is yours. If are having trouble moderating, then it might be time to let that food go for awhile until you can get control over it. Then, when you're doing well with moderation, buy one of those snacks. Open bag, put bowl on scale, put portion in bowl, weigh, put bag away and enjoy the…
  • I don't agree with the bold part. Granola bars, cheese sticks and apples can be more expensive than things like a bag of chips, or a block of cheese. Granola bars get pretty expensive too.
  • What is that? The only one I know of is Eduard Shevardnadze.
  • Do you have a Grocery Outlet nearby? Their foods is always cheaper. Do you have a wholesale fruit/veggie local farmer's type market nearby? We have one open year round, fresh locally grown veggies and fruits, and the veggies are always a great price. The Dollar Store/Tree has some foods to work with too. Just be sure to…
  • Nope. You're wrong. It's a felony is 16 states.
  • I don't drink soda, or any carbonated beverages, because they give me acid reflux. You can drink all the zero calorie drinks you want and your weight will not be affected. In fact, you will only gain weight if you eat more calories than you expend, which means you can even drink regular sodas if you want.
  • It's you! You're working hard! Congrats!
  • Calorie counting is not necessary to create a deficit for some people.
  • 50 pounds is awesome! Congrtats on finding your own magic for creating a calorie deficit to lose all that weight. ;)
  • This is so not true. Setting aside any medical conditions that cause weight loss and for which one needs medical attention, you do realize that to lose weight it's a requirement to eat less calories than you burn? Just because you are not literally counting calories does not mean you are not eating at a deficit. Some of…
  • Maybe you are one of those people who fare best on smaller more frequent meals a day. I am. Stick some fat in there too, and protein. It helps with hunger.
