A friend loves making protein shakes. He will often throw the leftover, or even fresh, veggies in his blender (magic bullet), and maybe some yogurt, cottage cheese, or protein powder, and whoosh! He has a nice protein drink. If you want to add a vegetarian protein powder, they have pea or rice protein you can use. Good…

Stratton mode is a myth. Eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight every single time. Just eat real food but less of it. Anybody can call themselves a nutritionist. Get a referral to a registered dietitian if you need someone to help you with your diety plan.

Hi Gabby, if it's not broken then there is no reason to fix it. You are doing such an excellent job, and what you're doing now works. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
-
Welcome, @tobastion. First of all, have you been to your doctor? If so, what has he/she suggested? If you have not, please visit your doctor, share your plan to lose weight, and ask for a referral to a dietitian to support you on your weight loss journey. You don't have to exercise to lose weight (but you can add exercise…

I am not understanding the benefits of 100 squats a day. You can't spot reduce or "spot tone," if you will, so why not just incorporate a reasonable amount of squats in with a weight lifting routine a few days a week. For example, on M,W,F, I do five sets of squats, five reps each set, about 115 to 125 pounds at the squat…

I remember in a time long ago....very long ago....before menopause, when I used to have my period and my weight would fluctuate by as much as ten pounds before and during, then it would go down a few days later. Try to be patient, drink lots of water, and if it does not go down a few days to a week after your period ends,…
-
Yes. Just create meal plans around the food you love. You CAN do this!
-
Fluff is in the perception. There is nothing wrong with grains, and there are a lot to choose from. I love my grains, refined or not.
-
Why would you cut out grains when you love them so much? Moderation is key in all things.
-
This. The evidence of how much (or how little) we are eating is always in the results. It's so easy to unknowingly underestimate our calorie intake and overestimate calories burned.
-
Ah, makes sense. I am on a low fodmap diet, and I do recall that. I use stevia and real sugar, and that's pretty much it.
-
Just thought I'd leave this here.....for you.......
-
A true sugar warrior! :D
-
I've never heard of Erythritol. I don't think I want to try it either because of my digestive problems.
-
I mix stevia with baking sugar sometime as well. It tastes great mixed with brown sugar.
-
I don't like Splenda all that well. But, I love my Stevia and bake just fine with it. I tried baking with Equal, and it's horrible. Agave nectar is great to bake with, but it's not calorie free.

First of all, 15 days is nothing at all, it's just a start. It's during this time that you find out certain things that might not be working. What is not working is that you are unknowingly eating more than you realize. If you were eating at a calorie deficit, you would be losing weight. The evidence of whether you are…

Correct. That is why I put in the "OR". Going over one day isn't going to hurt, but it's good practice to learn how to stay in our goals no matter what your goals are. Just sayin. :)
-
If I were you I'd recalculate. Say your goal is set to lose one pound per week. For anyone, an increase of .25 would be 250 calories more each day, an increase of 1 pound to maintenance would be 500.
-
Oops, that's right. I forgot about that part. :sigh:
-
Op, this is misinformation! You meal will have zero calories only if you eat 1 1/3 pieces of bread! I'm sure that's what Noel meant. :D
-
No, of course not. It's calorie dense, but means that you need to either (1) lessen your intake the rest of the day so that you stay within your calorie goals or (2) eat less another day, or a few days, so that you stay in your calorie goals to lose weight.
-
No, because I want to spend all my time with loved ones. :)
-
OP, you are quite thin, and I don't see any cellulite.
-
Log it and move on. Get rid of the self hate, it will do you no good. You didn't screw up, or undone anything, you went through growing pains. :)
-
Healthy is in the perception. I'm having turkey or ham and the works. All in moderation. Now, that's healthy. ;)

No, you are twisting my words. I said meal timing does not matter as to weight loss, and that not everyone can stick to intermittent fasting. You're saying that meal timing does matter and IF is the way to lose weight, yet you don't really provide any real backup as to why you believe that to be true the population in…
-
Now I'm beginning to wonder if you are trying to humor everyone. You are the one opining that meal timing matters as to weight loss, therefore IF is the way to lose weight, so the onus is on you to post relevant studies backing up your claim. Your studies do not do that. Meanwhile, you still have not answered how your…

@fruttibiscotti, I think this is what you are missing: A person can do IF all they want, but if they are eating more calories than they expend while doing IF, they will not lose weight, they will gain. IF is not an automatic tool to helping everyone stick to their calorie goals to lose weight, but it certainly is a way of…
