  • The groceries that changed my nutritional life for the better: Black beans (in the bag, dried. Must soak overnight, then boil for an hour and then store it in the fridge and use in your meals throughout the week!) Pinto beans (same deal) Lentils (buy in the bag, then boil 20 minutes, and add to anything! I love eggs +…
  • Both the photos are real. Your response sounds rather silly! Go look in a mirror and see what happens. As for you, boy in pictures.... you look sexy :) Great job.
  • I would go with lightly active! Since this will be a daily type of activity for you for the rest of the summer, you should see this as your base activity level. Anything other than doing this leisurely swimming should be exercise. But while you're at the pool it's just your daily activity :) Seems to make more sense and…
  • HUUUUUUUGE difference. HUGE. Keep that **** up!!! Don't stop!!! Don't lose focus! You've done so well and you know you can keep going. I only say lall this because once I feel like I look really good, I lose focus. Don't be me!
  • You're right. i think I'm just trying to lose the weight quicker. It's been a slow journey and I've made a lot of changes, but I need to chill out. It's just that I can FEEL the muscles right underneath the fat, do you know what i mean? So I wish I could hit the cardio even harder to burn that off. I definitely need to…
  • I've actually heard of that! Thanks and I will look into it!
  • I use 5 lb weights in the 30 Day Shred, is this what you mean? I feel like perhaps her workouts are too high impact for me. Not sure. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • How many calories each day do you have left over? What is your normal net calorie goal? If you are consistently eating WAY less than your goal, it could put you into starvation mode. Your body needs fuel to exercise! When it doesn't have fuel, it will start eating MUSCLE. You will soon become "Skinny fat." The kind of fat…
  • I'd love to try this challenge, but it might be slightly unrealistic for me right now. Tomorrow I'm traveling out of the country for a week, and am unsure of when (or even if) i will really be able to get some serious exercise in. I also don't want to hold back so much with food, or I'll have a terrible time worrying about…
  • I LOVE black beans too. How about this wonderful breakfast?? Check it out -- .5 cup black beans (soaked, boiled, throw it on a pan for a bit) .5 cup egg beaters (or 2 whole eggs) .5 cup mixed veggies (peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc.) wrap it up in a tortilla wrap, and enjoy your scrambly-omlettey burrito! I know this might…
  • My biggest meal is definitely my breakfast. I find that it jump-starts my metabolism and I have a lot of energy throughout the day. I've also read through a lot of articles and message boards -- the consensus is that breakfast is important enough to be your biggest meal. As I'm sure you've heard plenty of times, i would…
  • Already a totally new person :) Good luck and keep going. You're doing so well right now and I love that I can stalk you on here!!! :) Here's to the long journey ahead, for all of us!
  • Try Buena Vida's low-carb tortilla wraps at wal-mart. Delicious, and only 70 calories each. Really!
  • Wow, thanks so much to everyone for being so dedicated! I wasn't expecting such a reply. I try to keep my friend count kind of low so I can be as energetic and "motivational" as I can for people, so I can't accept every request. However, I think we should all post here about our progress, ask questions, or just see how…
  • 4'11", but closer to 5'. My doctor/nutritionist said that I could get as low as 95 (anything below that would be underweight), but would be best at 115-120. It also depends on your build. I would say for you a range between 120-130 would be best. :)
  • When I am craving sweets in the nighttime, I make myself a hot or cold cup of Earl Gray Decaf Tea with 2-3 packets of Splenda. It's so sweet, and so relaxing... I'm satisfied and go to bed right after. Try it out?
  • You need to eat, love. You can't burn EVERYTHING you eat. You're body is keeping the weight on because it's starving. I suggest you work out much less - how about you burn 800 everyday instead?
  • February 20th will mark the end of my 4th week on MFP. I've lost almost 9 pounds and I feel incredible. I can't believe I didn't know this community existed until recently. Who's on top of the world with me??
  • On level 5 you should definitely be burning at least more than 300 calories in that much time. I'd make sure your elliptical settings are accurate, and that the actual machine isn't broken. Even at my heaviest, when I first started, I burned something like 200 calories in 20 minutes.
  • Thanks so much to everyone! I'm definitely feeling the love. Let's get through this week together, shall we?!
  • Thanks so much for your support! It's amazing you have so much muscle, and it's definitely something I'm striving for. I read your profile and I want you to know that you are beautiful and there is NO need to hate your body. Look how much you've accomplished with your rowing team! 150lbs of muscle? Wow :)
  • I was hoping to find a topic like this today because I have had TWO bad days in a row. What's confusing is I technically gained 2 pounds back... but I'm finding it hard to believe the scale. I'm hoping it's just water weight? Anyway, here I am at 9 a.m. on a Sunday, about to head to the gym to try to burn at least 600…
  • One of the most helpful quotes I can ever remember seeing. I believe it's from Nike -- "Someone who is busier than you is running right now." Anytime I feel overwhelmed with feelings of guilt or stress over falling behind, I remember that I really can fit HEALTH into my routine. Someone busier than me is also thinner,…
