Jess, The biggest thing for me was my Vitamix. I'm no promoter, but the coffee smoothie I make in the mornings keeps me feeling full from 6:30am to about 10:30am. It has around 350 calories, but is very filling and very nutritious. I also wasted some money and saw a dietician who said the only change she would make for me…

I think self loathing and depression are what led some of us to the weight we started at, and thus where we are at today in this group for starting weight 300+. After leaving the Military where I was considered OverFat at 206 pounds at 5'11", I went back to college where although my discipline was there for the schooling,…

The need to maintain your Lean Body Mass during weight loss is critical, and so therefore exercise is critical. Strength training is probably the most important to maintaining your LBM or even increasing it a little. This may cause you to show a plateau if you are watching the scale too closely, but do not be dissuaded…

Eating back some of your exercise calories is important, and if you focus on a higher protein meal immediately after your workout, that would be the ideal way to eat back some of those calories as that will help your body recover more quickly from the exercise you just completed. Try to eat back some but not all as the…

Hey All! My name is Ray, 42 yrs old from Minnesota. I'm really excited to join this group as it will motivate me to kick some serious butt for the month of August. I have a goal weight loss of ~25 lbs for the months of August-November. I am losing on average about half a pound daily between diet and exercise since June 1,…

I put 2 cups of spinach and roughly 3/4 cup carrots into my morning coffee smoothie. That is a great portion of veggies. With the exception of the color, it looks like an iced coffee and tastes like one also. I've gotten about 5 friends hooked on them, one of which doesn't eat her veggies according to her 8 yr old son.

An annual fee would be OK I guess. I could stomach maybe $25/year, but I would have to insist on being able to share my recipes directly with my friends. And I want my friends to be able to access that info on their own via the diary.

My favorite Smoothie recipe which I have every morning. 1 cup of Almond Milk 3 tbsp French vanilla creamer 1 scoop Chocolate Protein powder (Whey Protein) 3 tsp Chia Seeds 1 handful or ~2cups of Raw baby Spinach 4-6 baby carrots 1 Cup of Ice cubes Put it all in my Vitamix and a minute later, it tastes like a frozen coffee…

1oz of unsalted almonds is only 160 calories and has 6g of protein. This is ~25 almonds by weight.

I didn't even need to sneak it in. I bought a sub at subway and carried it in so they could see it. What are they gonna do? Are they going to choose to lose $12 on a movie seat they most likely will not fill if they have to refund my ticket price? I don't think so. Choose to be discreet if you want on beverages, but i've…

Thank you all for the replies. I shifted my numbers around so I have 120g of protein per day which is high. Should that prevent my body from taking away the lean muscle that's currently hidden inside? I've been netting about 1200 calories with the exercise i'm doing and today I tried to eat every bit of my exercise…

I had an Iced coffee that contained a scoop of protein powder, spinach, carrots, some creamer, Chia, and Ice all blended in my Vitamix. It is about 300 calories that I drink around 6am and keeps me full until about 10am when I snack on either almonds or mixed nuts.
