I have been at this for over two months already (down 24 1/2 lbs), so I'm getting close to my goal. I'd like to get down to around 120, which means I have 9 lbs to go. But the weight has been coming off more slowly as of late, so it may take me 4 more months to get there. CW: 129.2 lbs GW: 120 lbs Step being taken: Will be…

SunMaid dried fruit bits are pretty good. If chocolate is your thing, I love ZonePerfect Chocolate Greek Yogurt protein bars. 190 calories but packed with protein so you feel full when you've eaten one. Just about any kind of in season fruit (pears, peaches, melons, plums, pineapple) all have natural sugars. Pair some…

Thank you so much for your insight! After this read, I will be aiming for 120 lbs instead of 125. I appreciate the time it took to explain all this!
-
Also, I have a question of my own for you - why does your ticker show a desired result of weight loss if you are wanting to get to 125?
-
I'm no expert, so please take my advice with a grain of salt. If I were in your shoes and wanting to gain weight by eating more calories without getting that super "full" feeling, I'd eat generous portions of snacks that are high in protein/calories between eating healthy meals. Some that come to mind are: Pistachios,…

It is tough when you have family to consider along your weight loss journey. My kids are still young (ages 2-12) and impressionable. They all know mom is losing weight by diet and exercise, so that's good. I am concerned that they watch me weighing my food or measuring it out before I eat. I hope that this doesn't have any…

I'm halfway through week 2 and I am getting stronger so that I can do the whole workout without pausing. I asked a friend who had done this what week 3 & 4 were like, she said they were killer! She said she was actually sore for several days after starting week 4 (and this was after doing 30DS and Ripped back-to-back). I…

Quaker Oatmeal Squares are high in iron (even more than Cheerios) and the bonus is that these taste great without milk. I love to eat them for a snack. I like the plain original flavor, but they do have them in an assortment of flavors.

I'm 40 years old, mom of 5 kids (youngest is 2), I'm 5'4" and started at 154 lbs. I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD workout. My calorie intake was set at 1200 and I usually ate back about half of my workout calories in the beginning. Personally, I noticed a difference within 2 weeks. By about 3 weeks, my husband…

How much time lapsed between finishing eating and your post? If it was less than 20 minutes, your stomach hasn't had time to tell your brain that it is full. Your brain could still be triggering the "I'm hungry" stomach pains because it doesn't realize that you've already fed your tummy. Just a thought.

Sometimes I go over, maybe once every week or so. Usually not to an extreme, but last Sunday was not a good day for me. I went over by the amount of my deficit and maybe more. The important thing is to not beat yourself up over it. Chalk it up to a bad day and start over fresh in the morning and never think about it again.…

Definitely do this - I could see a difference on my body after 2 weeks. It wasn't noticeable to other people yet, but I saw results and that kept me motivated until people around me started to take notice. Best $10 I've ever spent in my life, really! To me it would have been worth a few hundred!

Mine went along for the ride too! Used to wear a C, then after nursing kids, a B, now I'm something like an A-. By the time I reach goal, I imagine I'll be back in a training bra :o(

I don't pre-plan my meals. I do eat about the same breakfast everyday, so lunch and supper are really the only meals I think about at all. I usually just eat a 3-4 oz portion of whatever meat or dish I make with a half cup veggies and half-one cup fruit. Usually that keeps me in the right range of calories per meal without…

Love to run to the Mortal Kombat soundtrack!

Zone Perfect Chocolate Greek Yogurt protein bars are 190 calories and will satisfy just about any chocolate craving :o) But I honestly have to say, when I started this diet, I eliminated a lot of the carbs (breads, potatoes, chips, etc.) from my diet simply because they were higher calorie than other foods. Once those were…

Way to go! You look like a model! I love to see other people reach their goals - it helps keep me motivated to reach mine!

I was told to log it as general circuit training, so that's what I did when I did this workout last month. When I Googled 30DS to see what the calorie burn would be, I found a site that said it burned a bit more than the log of circuit training showed, but it wasn't too far off (maybe 30 calories). Good luck to all of you,…

I for one am a big fan of Cheerios. Can eat a lot for few calories.

You sound like a perfectionist to me :o) You don't have to be perfect to lose weight. MFP is a tool, nothing more, it helps to hold you accountable for what you eat and serve as a guide to your weight loss. However, you have to listen to your body. If you have eaten all your calories for the day, but your body is still…

The truth of the matter is, yes, you can sit back, do nothing at all and eat your 1200 calories a day and still lose weight. Some people do. Your body will lose weight because you are eating at a calorie deficit per week. If you choose to not exercise though, your body will not appear lean and muscular as it becomes…

I vote for Ripped in 30 also. I just finished the Shred two weeks ago. Started Level 2 of Ripped tonight and it kicked my butt! Level 1 was an excellent workout. I just hope I can make it through Level 2 :o)

Bumping for quick reference later - I'm 6 pounds to goal and have the same questions! Thanks for posting!

I've done 30DS and been in your shoes. I'd suggest doing a yoga workout today instead of a taking a day off. Yoga does a really nice job of stretching sore muscles and you'd be amazed at how much better you'll feel immediately! (Like being able to sit on a toilet instead of 'fall' onto it in pain, or walk down a flight of…

You look great - I'm going to have to show your results to my hubby, you and he are of similar build, though he was about 15 lbs heavier at the start. He is in week 3 of P90X. He has not followed the diet plan religiously, but has scaled back his calories. He is down a few pounds but has become discouraged that the scale…

In the past 9 weeks I have lost 4 1/2 inches off my hips, 3 inches off my waist (at belly button) ad 3 inches off my thighs. I did this by netting between 1200-1300 calories per day and doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workout video and now her Ripped in 30 workout video. I have built up muscle like I've never seen…

My hubby likes to have the pre- and post workout shakes. Me, not so much. His goal is to bulk up and build muscle, though, so I think that is what the protein in those shakes is intended to help with (muscle repair and growth). If you are aiming to lose weight without heavy lifting, I don't really see the shakes being…

Fill a travel size container with whatever detergent you use at home. Hand wash in the sink/tub of your motel room. Lay everything out in a clean, dry motel towel and roll the towel up. Squeeze towel thoroughly and unroll. Hang damp clothes to finish drying. If you workout in the evening, they should be dry by morning…

I've gone from a size 12 to a size 8 and can't wait to get myself into a size 6 again. When I tried on pants this weekend that I was wearing just a month ago, I can't believe how much a person's body can change in such a short time. I wish I had discovered fitness pal years ago - I never fully understood healthy "dieting"…

Thanks guys :) This morning I measured myself just for kicks to see where I am at. Here's the results since I started my weight loss journey 9 1/2 weeks ago: Hips: Lost 4 1/2 inches Thigh: Lost 3 1/4 inches Waist: Lost 3 inches Bust: Lost 3 inches After seeing how much my hips & thighs have shrunk, it's no wonder my pants…
