  • Way to go!! Keep it up - I bet your brother is eating his words :o)
  • Thank you for the idea! I eat a fair amount of wraps using whole wheat tortillas, but I'm going to look for these next time I go shopping :o)
  • I workout 25 minutes/day and aim for at 6 days per week. But life sometimes gets in the way. I don't sweat it anymore. If I have a little extra energy, sometimes I'll double-up and do two workouts in a day to make up for one I missed, but as long as I see the downward trend on the scale, I don't obsess over it.
  • Peanut butter is my trigger. Love it in candy, peanut butter & chocolate chips, on bread, with fruit etc. It is always in our house because who can have 5 kids and not have an occasional peanut butter sandwich meal?? I try to limit eating it to early in my day (like 1 slice of pb toast for breakfast). My willpower is…
  • I don't have this problem, but wondered if you could use a BeBand or similar slimming band product when you workout to help keep the excess skin from moving and rubbing. Just a thought.
  • When I started MyFitnessPal on May 31, My mini-goal was to lose 12 lbs by the day I left on vacation for the beach July 7). I did it by eating 1200 calories/day and doing Jillian Michaels workout DVD (25 minute workout) once a day most days of the week. For me, this was "quick" weight loss. Even though I did not lose all…
  • Thank you for the illustration and explanation! When I started working out 2 months ago, I seriously think I had NO muscle in my butt. Now 18 lbs gone, I still have a "marshmallow" butt (love this term btw :o), however, there is more muscle underneath all the cushion. I'd like to see my derierre lifted and firmed, and now…
  • Holy cow! No way were you fat at 5'5" and 122 lbs! I'm 5'4" and that's about where I've set my goal. I won't be a stick when I get there, but I do expect my body will be lean and have shed most of the fat that I want gone. I'd say you were perfect then, so if your goal is to get back there, go for it!!
  • Don't give up, you have done the right thing by quitting smoking. Coffee, I believe, is a diuretic because of the caffeine. Previous poster is right, give your body a little time to overcome the shock of the changes you have made. You are moving in the right direction. Great job!!
  • Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and also Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30. I did the 30DS DVD (took 2 months to finish, not 30 days though) and lost 18 lbs in those 2 months. I just started Ripped in 30 and like what I see so far. Both are short workouts compared to insanity, but still extremely effective. The videos were both…
  • Try eating a bowl of cheerios for breakfast every day. Doctor recommended this for a friend of mine whose cholesterol was too high. Said that plus exercise and an otherwise healthy diet should help to decrease her cholesterol. As for calorie rich snacks that are good for you, you could try yogurt (not the "light"…

  • Ditto! Before nursing 5 kids - C, After nursing - B, After losing 17 lbs - Don't know, but my formed B cup bra is currently holding more air than boob :o(
  • I am eating 1200 - 1350 calories a day: Breakfast: 325 Lunch: 425 Supper: 450-550 Pre or Post workout snack: 100 (usually a yogurt or cheese stick)
  • I just noticed that my face has cheekbones. I pretty much forgot they were there since I haven't seen them in 13 years :o)
  • I'm 5' 4" and my original goal was 133lbs. (a 20lb weight loss). Now that I'm close to my goal, I'm going to go for more. I'm aiming for 125 lbs. now. Good luck!
  • Please don't give up. Instead, walk (pun intended :o) to your local Walmart and buy Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred workout DVD. It only costs $9.97. You mentioned you already had a set of 5-lb hand weights. That's all you need. That DVD along with eating a calorie deficit for the past month has eliminated 2.75" from my…
  • Before I began dieting using MFP, I had a vigorous appetite. I ate (and craved) lots of carb-rich foods and sweets. Since beginning this diet, I eliminated many of those foods from my diet simply because I couldn't eat enough of them to fill me up and stay within my 1200 calorie a day requirement. So I replaced them with a…
  • The school my kids attend has really gotten on this bandwagon in the past two years. They, too, have outlawed any form of "sweets" - no treats for kid's birthdays, no candy at Halloween or Valentine's Day, etc. I think that part is going too far. As other posters have said, it doesn't teach kids about moderation. However,…
  • Well, from what you've said, I'm afraid I have no useful advice to give. That is where my calories are set too, and I mostly use the 5 lbs weights (a couple I use 8 lbs and one I use 2lb). From everything you've said, you should be seeing some results. Stick it out for another month. If you don't see any noticeable results…
  • A few questions: How many calories a day are you aiming for? Are you following Natalie or Anita during most of the moves. What hand weights are you using (1 lb, 2 lb, 5 lb) when you do the exercises in 30DS? Do you feel as though you have pushed yourself hard through the whole workout? I too have been doing this workout…
  • I've always been a cereal girl. My go-to breakfast is 2 1/2 cups Cheerios with 1/2 cup skim milk and a sprinkle of sugar (320 calories). If I eat my carbs in the morning, I don't crave them throughout the day. If I don't have time to eat my cheerios breakfast, I find myself fighting cravings through most of my day.
  • Love this!! PB is a trigger for me too - but only if I start eating it. Duct tape would prevent you from opening the jar :o) Good luck to you!
  • 6 pregnancies in 10 years - I figured why bother trying to lose weight in between kids when I knew I was just going to put it back on again! Right? Well, now I'm 25 lbs overweight and trying to get back the body I had when we got married.
  • I'm on Day 18 of 30DS and I think this workout is better than P90X. Don't get me wrong, P90X is a great workout, I did it for 12 weeks - but gave up because I just wasn't seeing enough weight drop. I couldn't cut enough calories to lose any weight because the workouts were so demanding that I felt starved all the time.…
  • No goal board here, but I do have a couple of visual things that motivate me. A photo of myself from my high school years (I weighed the weight I'm trying to reach). Also, watching G.I. Jane. There is something that deeply motivates me when watching Demi Moore in that movie - especially her one-arm push-ups (hence my…
  • Still on Level 2 as I missed a few days, but after 3 weeks and 2 days I am officially down 9.2 lbs!!! I couldn't be happier with this workout or this website. Even my hubby has noticed the difference in the way I look. So pumped to keep losing the weight! The best part of it all is knowing that this weight is gone for good…
  • LOL-I know they sound weird, but they are a seasoned meatball with rice cooked in tomato soup. Once the rice is cooked it does stick out of the meatballs like porcupine quills. One of my family's favorites. Not super healthy, but everything is do-able in proper portions :o) Thanks for the nutrition advice, I'll just log…
  • I remember how I felt about my body in high school. Weighing 120 at 5'4" and thinking I had such chubby legs and feeling "fat" when I compared myself to my taller friends. Now when I look back on a photo of me in my cheerleading uniform with my gawky frame and knobby knees, I wonder how the heck I ever came to the…
  • Level 1 done, 4 lbs lost (Yay!) - Level 2 here I come :o)
  • Veggie pizza was perfect, 2 small pieces at 250 cal each and I still came in 102 calories under for the day (w/o my exercise counted yet), so I have enough calories left for a post workout yogurt. Yay!
