I agree, see a doctor and get you blood work checked out. You could also have an iron-deficiency, which the doc should be able to see from the lab paperwork. Talk to you doctor about your sleep habits too...

You should really try to incorporate weight lifting. I love to do alternate activities like tire flips, sledgehammer swings, and buddy carries (grab your friend, toss them over your should and walk/jog a ways). If you do get a gym membership, then find activities that you love that will help to build muscle. Weight lifting…

Talk to your doctor, there may be a medical reason behind the craving. At the very least, they can test your iron and vitamin levels to see if you are deficient.

For free pull up bars: do you live near a park with monkey bars? The free weight increments you have will be great for you! And I LOVE resistance bands. Just youtube different excercised you can do with them, it'll help. :smile:

Why do you want to be a member of a gym? What would you use it for? Just wondering b/c i'm a bit different. I prefer to work out outside and just use my own body weight for strength building. A lot of people on MFP love to lift weights, is that why you are looking for a gym?

I would recomend strengthening all the muscles in your leg: quadriceps, hamstrings, shins, and calves. For example the regular squats and lunges. Have you done toe taps? Literally tapping your toes, repeatedly, will work your "shin". Heel raises for your calves. Also, are you stretching before you work out? Like rolling…

I've heard the "calories burned" on treadmills can be fairly inaccurate. Then again, this is hearsay. Just what I've heard in the gym. :) Hope it helps. Oh, and HR monitors can be chekced by manually taking your pulse to verify the bpm.

I started taking a non-estrogen pill (progesterin?) about 4 years ago.... it made me gain about 10 pounds that are very difficult to get rid of.

Can you relocate your clients favorite things like the tire and sledgehammer to the old room? If so, that might aleviate the issue if talking with the boss doesn't work out. Always good to have a back up plan!

I just started to take an iron supplement... but it's "gentle iron". Hope i won't have these issues but good to know about the Vitamin C thing for absorbtion. Thanks!

HAHAHA! I thought so too! That is until you see them after day 4 in the field... without showers. Ugh, really gross smelling. It's hard to get that picture out of my head.

If you are not going to eat carbohydrates like brown rice then make sure to eat starchy vegitables. Your body still needs carbohydrates for energy. Otherwise, i'm right with you. I'm 5' too. What types of exercise are you doing daily? Welcome to MFP! Feel free to add me :smile:
