I weigh every morning as I have a digitial scale. I think I am more movitvated by it as it is extremely accurate and you can't cheat the numbers. As I even see tenths of a lb. go down, I am making progress. And, by watching, you can tell on days that you have eaten too much salt (you will see water retention) gain and so…

I was at a weight impasse for about the last six weeks. I finally called my doctor and asked for advice. He told me to cut down on the carbs -- since I talked with him a week ago, I have lost three pounds. I am not starving, but I am watching my carbs and my fat intake -- it's coming off quick. I am eating well and not…

I am 56 and was told by my doctor that I had to lose weight or I would soon be diabetic. I had a hysterectomy when I was 42. I thought it was impossible to lose weight and he was the only one that kept telling me there is no reason why you can't lose weight. I think we ladies get brainwashed into thinking that because we…

And, if you are only buring 300 or so calories at every hour on a treadmill, it's going to take quite a while to reach a deficit of 3500 calories to lose a pound. You might need to change to…

It sounds like to me not enough of good calories - your body might be in the starvation mode. Also, I have found that I cannot drink any alcohol as it sets my progress back at least 3-4 days and as hard as it is to lose weight, I am not willing to sacrifice the consumption !!!

You might be sending the wrong message to your body that it's starving and it's holding onto the fat that it needs to survive. I had this problem when I started losing weight initially because I wasn't eating enough. I went online and found if you back off your "diet" for a few days (including no exercise) and start again,…

Marilyne13, I haven't tried that "diet", but it's not something your mind will let you use long term :). And if you gained weight, it's probably because of the water content of the vegetables. You didn't say how much you were exercising. It's really a simple matter of eating healthy (raw foods are excellent) and burning…
