Cool. I have a 5k this Saturday and was wondering myself if I should eat beforehand. I also usually run on an empty stomach.

Ugh! How did you all get your tickers to display. I made one on the website. Am I copying and pasting the url in the wrong place?

I think whatever works best for you to get your daily requirement is okay, as long as the calories are minimal to none. I like the taste of plain water, but I know others who do not and getting in at least 64 ounces is a challenge for them. I have used crystal light (with the zero calories) when I want something different.

I want to make running a habit after I finish my c to 5k program this weekend, so I think I will give this challenge a shot! Will start on tomorrow. http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wVn7fif/exercise.png <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/exercise/wVn7fif/"> <img border="0"…

Oh, okay. This is a great app and has helped me a lot. When I first started exercising consistently I was using the treadmill walking 4 miles with no incline and lost weight. As I got more conditioned, I started playing with the incline doing intervals to increase the intensity of my workout. Now I am doing the couch to…

Good info here! I will bump for later.

What app are you referring to?

Great post. I am going to try some of these recommendations for myself.

Gabrielle Union is who I am striving to model. She is 40 and has a similar body shape as me.

OP, I stopped running in the park for similar reasons. There would be people strolling side by side, three across, and I know they can see I am running and still will not move. I have had people stop in the middle of the trail having conversations and will not move. I have to veer into the grass to get around them. I think…

For meI needed to focus on the weight first. Now that I have loss the lbs, made eaing wisely and exercising more of a habit I can focus on fitness goals. I more confidence I can make it happen, because I have already made it happen with the weight loss. Some people have to start with baby steps and weight is often the…

This!!!!!! Obsessed with them. I have to stay away from Doritos as well. Now, I only eat them if they are at other people's houses when I am visiting. Watching eyes and manners keep me from swallowing the whole bag in one sitting when visiting. At home, all bets are off!

I don't eat out as much because it's easier to control my calorie intake and limit the amount of sodium I receive daily. I now cook more at home and am saving money! I used to go out to eat twice a day 6 times a week. Thanks MFP!

This is a good thread. thanks for all the tips and website links!

I have been doing pilates videos at home about twice a week for about 6 weeks and I can definitely tell my stomach is a little flatter. I am also doing a couch to 5k (10week program) and am on my 5th week. I feel like both are really helping. The run/walking is helping to shed the fat and the pilates is toning my muscles…

You can do some of Jillian's workouts on Youtube as well.

Wow! The OP should have about 100 friends by now. LOL! If you or anyone else need anymore feel free to add me. Best wishes!

I can feel what the OP is saying. I am a big meat eater and to reduce to 2 oz for me would be challenging. It's like telling a person who loves sweets, you can have 2 bites and that's it. If it's that's all I can have, its almost like why bother then?

French fries and any type of potato are at the top of my trigger list as well. Pizza, chips, and any type of fried food will also send me into a frenzy. I've been doing well for the summer, but now that school is starting back the challenge begins. We have an all-you-can-eat buffet style of cafeteria and it's definitely…
