You lost 57 lbs in 5 months? Wow, you're losing 2 1/2 pounds a week! Is that a huge deficit? Are you hungry, lol!
-
Great job so far! Keep it up!

18- wow, you're just a baby:) It's great that you're getting healthy at a young age. Now that you are only 16 pounds from goal do you plan to introduce a larger variety of foods and see what additional things you can enjoy and still hit your calorie/ macro goals? It might be a good idea to start experimenting with that…

Awesome!! What a good feeling that is. I put on a suit for church that I hadn't been able to wear for a while today.

Good question, OP. I know a lot of people have been told coconut oil will magically increase metabolism. It's not true. It is filling and when I use to add it to my breakfast smoothies, I would stay satiated longer, but adding 100 calories of fat will do that for ya. I add ground flaxseed now. Also, the Mayo Clinic article…

<3 This is such a good post!! I love reading the weight loss success stories but the maintenance stories are even more encouraging because I know that's harder to do for the long term. You look amazing!

You had me at long and geeky ;)

Thanks for posting what you thought would be helpful advice for others! This site has very opinionated and informed people though so they (we?) get a little nutso about foods being ruled out. The reason being is that restricting calories is hard enough without reducing the types of food people can eat. And let's be honest,…

Kerryh, at 159 pounds, 5.5, if you are a female and 30ish, your Basal Metabolic Rate (the amount of calories your body needs just to function) is 1505. If you have a sedentary job and little exercise, your Total Daily Energy Expenditure is 1806. Your goal is to eat 20% less than that, so your daily calories would be 1445,…

Considering your weight is already so low, I'd let your doctor know if you are concerned about weight loss (or are you trying to get lower than 111?). There are other anti-depressants that either don't affect appetite, or even seem to increase it.

Can you replace or add full-fat whole milk to your protein shake in the morning? I agree about talking to your doctor/ nutritionist. If you can't eat enough I wonder if they would recommend a supplement (like Ensure). I have no idea and I would really rather see you just eat more calorie dense food, if your doctors agree.

This for me. If I didn't eat enough earlier than I may not feel hungry before I eat, but once I do eat, I am very hungry and feel like I could keep eating and eating. Since I'm eating more regularly now, I haven't felt this quite as much.

Wow. You guys are setting the bar high, lol. Great job on your weight loss and measurements.
-
Wow!! What muscular abs you have my dear.

A year of great progress!

That's great progress!

Oh my gosh. Yes, that's tiny. I would love to have a tinier waist, if I can still have good size hips.
-
Oh my gosh, I have the donut mummy tummy too, lol. After four kids I guess I deserve it. I actually think of it as a rubber tube. Wow, 27" is awesome.

Definitely. I need a 99 year old friend who has lost 13kg, has 6602 posts and is encouraging.

Congrats on your recovery success so far! That is really great that you are seeing your body heal. Continue to work closely with your doctor. My concern with justifying the underweight BMI and getting comfortable with it is that it does not leave very much "fat" (pun intended) in your recovery plan. If you are already…

Great question. I'm in for the discussion. I started out at 187 12/29/14 and am at 173 now. I would love to get into the high 140's by my 40th birthday in August, but now that I'm focused more on bodyweight training/ strength, we'll see what my true end goal weight is.
