I had to buy new sports bras because I needed a smaller band size--a 38, so my band size is back in the 30s!

Replace 2-3 of your runs with strength training sessions (not on consecutive days)--if you lift heavy enough, you can change the way your whole body looks.

I have bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD and a sleep disorder. A better diet and physical activity combine nicely with my medication cocktail to regulate my mood! Anyone is welcome to add me. :-)

Your descriptions are vivid and hilarious! I love your sense of humor, and laughing at the situation is far better than crying. I can completely relate--I have several sizes of jeans in my closet, and I try them on once a month to gauge my progress. I feel your pain! Lol

I'm at 1700-2300, depending on my exercise that day. (I tried TDEE, but I like the feeling of "earning" calories. To each his/her own!) Feel free to add me if you like!

These are hilarious! I have 2 pretty good ones: 1) On a road trip when I was about 6, someone cut my dad off, and he called the guy an SOB. I thought about it for a second, and asked my dad if, since I was a girl, that made me a DOB. My dad laughed hysterically and said yes, while my mom swatted at him from the passenger…

The only way to predict when your period will start is to know when you ovulated, which you would only know by taking basal body temperature. Your luteal phase should be the same number of days each cycle (it may fluctuate by a day, but is pretty consistent). So if you had clockwork cycles, it was because you ovulated on…

Haha! Now you know what to do when you're low on protein! ;-)

I'm 5'10". I've lost 57 lbs so far, and I have about 50 left to get to my first goal. Feel free to send a friend request. :-)

I've found that planning ahead is key for me. I plan meals for the week before grocery shopping. I fill out my food diary the day before or that morning (and put my calories in the red if I plan to work out that day, to give extra incentive to follow through). This helps me get my desired number of calories and macro…

I agree that it sounds like sciatica. Did they do an x-ray to see if you have a herniated disc?

It would be unusual to gain that amount of muscle in 6 weeks doing hard-core strength training and no cardio, especially as a woman who is not morbidly obese. I'd say her machine is inaccurate. Also, doing only cardio can cause you to lose muscle while eating at a deficit, so I'd recommend adding some strength training to…

I agree with most of the suggestions--blackout curtains, getting up if you're tossing and turning, no electronics in the bedroom.... However, if you can't sleep in silence, try a white noise machine or a fan. I can't sleep without my fan!

It took a lot of courage to post this. You've come a long way, and I wish you nothing but the best.

Anyone is welcome to add me! I'm 44 lbs down and have another 60 to go until I hit my reassessment goal--depending on body composition, I may try to go lower. (My current set goal is still in the "overweight" range for my height.) I'm on here regularly, my diary is open to friends, and I enjoy supporting others. :-)

3 pounds down for this challenge and 44 total since October! :-)

I'm a US 40DD. I have an awesome date-night bra from Cacique that is lightly padded, but it also has removable pads that go into built-in pockets on the outsides of the cups--they push everything to the center. I've had 2 kids, and a good portion of my weight loss has been from my chest, so if it gives me nice cleavage,…

I hope your surgery goes well, and I'm sure you'll be back to kicking *kitten* in no time!

This is just my experience, so I'm not an expert, but I've had several injuries where I had no option but to stop weight training or stop exercising altogether (with breaks of 2-4 weeks), and the good news is that you can regain your strength and endurance pretty quickly. My recommendation would be to start with slightly…

Ice and ibuprofen/naproxen to reduce inflammation, and perhaps limit your workouts to low-impact stuff until it calms down. Better to take it easy for a few days than to aggravate it further and risk being in severe pain. Also, a heating pad before any workout and ice afterward. (I've been to physical therapy a few times…

Hi everyone! I'm Liz, and I'm recovering from a cervical fusion. I had a severely herniated disc (C6-C7) that was pressing on the spinal cord and a lot of nerves in the area, causing a LOT of pain--I'd had the pain for over a year, but the source was only recently diagnosed. On 2/25/14, my orthopedic surgeon fused the…
