please read this from webmd before making your decision http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/detox-diets-purging-myths

you plan to only drink water for 10 days!?!?! so, you'll basically be starving yourself for 10 days. that really sounds bad for a lot of reasons. i would seriously reconsider doing your detox, or at least talk to your primary care doctor prior to doing it. your body needs food everyday. sounds very risky to me. please take…

we didn't dance at our wedding. everyone was too busy eating and drinking:drinker: and my husband can't dance.

has anyone else seen this movie? it was on pbs the other night. every time i watch, i'm just blown away by joe's ability to make decisions and stick with them. i need to read his book. if you haven't seen it, rent it!

i don't have any real suggestions, except to check out rei. they have a huge selection of shoes geared for everything. i remember seeing some really light weight, breathable shoes that i wanted to take backpacking (for creek crossings and around camp). good luck with your search.

for all the non and casual gamers, some common gaming acronyms and terms used so far in this thread rpg=role playing game ftw=for the win level=characters skills and abilities that increase during gameplay guild=some rpg's have guilds, which are like clubs based on abilities/occupations/charater types within a game…

i obsessively check the xbox marketplace for new diary videos. and i rewatch them over and over, pausing frequently to squink at faraway screens in the background. :noway:

me and my hubby have a wii, ps2, and xbox360. i have also have a ds, but he's using it most of the time (even though i put tinkerbell stickers all over it). right now i'm finishing up twilight princess :blushing: seriously, its taken me forever to finish that game! i am desparately waiting for fable 2. and i'm hoping to…

my doctor told me to try and limit myself to 2 cups a day. i fail every day, but i don't think 4-5 cups is too much. if you have high blood pressure, obviously caffeine is no good. also, women with osteoporosis, also not good. i don't think coffee is inherently bad, but people may have certain conditions where they should…

Ugh!!!! i thought my house was dirty... seriously, how do you sleep in a place that filthy!?!

i've heard its impossible to find, but i would rather wait with my store credit than by one for twice the price on ebay. believe or not, kids on the gamefaqs boards who work at retailers were complaining about people constantly calling about the wii fit!!! its not our fault. they should be complaining to nintendo for not…

no youtube at work, will have to watch it when i get home... although, do i want to watch it???

Hooray!! Lets take over the world!! (running with fist in the air)

is that like kitchen nightmares?

thanks, that helps a lot. i think will get one, when i can find one!!

$90 sounds kinda steep. but i guess the question for me is more about how effective and motivating it is. i've checked the gamefaqs boards, and mostly people are flaming the whole concept of wii fit. so, thats not very helpful for someone who wants a real assessment of effective it is as an exercise and weight loss tool.

i'm curious to hear from people who've had theirs for awhile now. what do you think? i'll be finishing up twilight princess soon, and i'll get store credit to buy something. since its kinda expensive, i thought it would be nice to use the credit to offset the cost a little. anyone used it consistently and seen results?…

i'd like to give blood, but their stupid rules about waiting a whole year after getting tattoos and piercings prevents me. how is that any more dangerous than having wild unprotected sex? especially if you go reputable places that sterilize their equipment?:grumble:

technically, you don't NEED to workout to lose weight. just make sure you watch your calories. i'm totally the same way, the last thing i want to do when i get home is workout. but i found bellydancing, which i LOVE, and its generally the only exercise i get. find a form of exercise you like, and try to do it at least 3…

Yep, my ex weighed a good 220! That's a lot of excess weight!

be strong. when my co-dependent ex and i broke up, i didn't really have anyone else either. but after we finished, i reconnected with old friends and made new ones. and i think its a good thing to learn to deal with stuff on your own. now is the time to really choose the people you want in your life, the ones who really…

Your guys sounds like he either has serious depression issues, or is manipulating you emotionally. Threatening to kill himself if you leave does not equal a healthy relationship. From my own experience with a similar waaaaay too co-dependent relationship, the best thing you can do, for BOTH of you, is break it off. He…

i think moms have an inherent urge to constantly feed their kids:laugh: don't give up! you can eat healthy when you're eating out. as for sweets around the house, can you eat just one? my evil/wonderful husband is always eating chips in front of me, so i eat one and the 'i can't have that' urge goes away... stay…

i agree with petdam. losing inches shows that you are making progress. as for the 'set point' idea, i've never heard that term before. but it brings up an interesting point. i will never be a size 6. my skinny jeans are a 16, so my goal is to get back there and not any lower. is your goal realistic and healthy?
