  • i did throw my back out when i first started dancing, probably because those muscles were so fatigued from being used for the first time ever! please don't stop dancing. it really will help in the long run:flowerforyou:
  • hey alf, have you started bellydancing yet? i had chronic back pain until i started dancing. now i have no back pain at all. in addition to the stretching bri suggested, try making really big horizontal circles with hips, keeping you head above your feet, feet hip-width apart. this is a siadii circle, if you're familiar…

  • love it! i only got boobs when i gained weight! i'll be sad to see them go...
  • i just want to be healthy, so really that's my only motivation. i have cheat days too. but i try to not go super overboard. most days, if i'm over my cals, i dance before i go to bed to make up for them. i guess the question i ask myself before putting something in my mouth is 'is this good for me?'... some other people on…
  • hi jj, just a few thoughts.... i've lost 8 punds in about 3 weeks just using this site. you don't need a fancy, expensive diet system to lose weight, just eat right and exercise. also, i'm always wary of the term 'detox'. i don't believe our bodies retain toxic things that a diet will flush out. give mfp a try for a month,…
  • i told my uber-skinny friend that i wanted to lose 50 pounds, and she said it was too much. in her defense, most people don't think i weigh as much as i do. people 'carry' their weight differently. my skinny friend then told me some pretty bad comments she's gotten like 'how did you ever get pregnant', 'you're anorexic',…
  • bellydancing!
  • bellydancing!
  • 1 bottle of pomegranate izze has 110 calories. i love izze's:heart:
  • i get hungry right before bed too. my solution is to have a mug of decaf tea. it fills my tummy with something and helps me unwind. i used to have trouble falling asleep, and its really helped with that too.:flowerforyou:
  • i'm cheap too... and broke! i use the white fragrance free dove soap. sometimes, i'll use a dove moisturizer or generic astringent. i used to be addicted to clinique, then origins. but frankly, i think my skin does best with just dove, once a day in the evening.:flowerforyou:
  • no bananas! guess its a placebo effect:embarassed:

  • bananas! other dancers recommended bananas for my feet cramps, i guess potassium is supposed to help. i've noticed a big difference, but i don't know how scientifically accurate that is...

  • consider this your cheat day for the week  start fresh tomorrow, and don't be too hard on yourself, it may lead to for big mac's!
  • i don't know what 'ceesies' are, but i love anything with the word 'cheese' in it! props to you for not eating the whole bag of cheesy yumminess!

  • i eat what i want, or whatever my husband cooks.... but i find that i generally crave fresh fruit and other healthy stuff as much as i crave mc donald's. it helps to have healthy snacks around the house, then i'm less tempted to dig into the home-made ice cream!
  • i practice belly rolls at my desk:tongue:
  • omg, you should be a therapist:laugh: i have a slightly different philosophy. i have dessert almost every night, but i fit it in to my calories. i know that if i deny myself, i'll go nuts! so, my best strategy is to eat what i want, but in small doses within my calorie limit. we all have our ways of dealing i guess... chin…

  • i agree with sonia. the scale is not as important as your overall health. this really is about lifestyle changes. that's why its 'my fitness pal' and not my weight loss pal. you've done great so far, so don't give up. think about being/feeling/living healthier, and the weight WILL come off!
  • i hate this quote but... 'that which does not kill us only makes us stronger' you've been through something very difficult, celebrate your recovery and congratulate yourself on your hard work. you earned it!:flowerforyou:
  • i started gaining weight right after i got my desk job. 6 years later and i'm 50 pounds overweight. it is hard to find ways to work in exercise during the day. i try to talk walks on my lunch, if i have time. i think the hardest part is motivating myself to workout when i get home. odd how tired i am after sitting a desk…
