  • YES I'd love to join!! I've kinda trailed backwards in my weight loss journey, so I need this!
  • I fell of the MFP wagon last week, but I'm back! I had been really good about logging all my intakes-- even my binges-- until last week, so I'm sort of guessing here. Me- 9 The Binge- 8 Wow, I'm actually kinda surprised I have the lead (even though it's just by 1) because whenever I have a binge, time seems warped. I…
  • I'm only recently 21 too, so I'm still figuring this out lol. I've been trying to stay away from beer and any sugary cocktails. Lately I just order vodka soda with lime. It has fewer calories than a vodka cranberry or jack and coke (what I would usually get), and the lime gives it a little flavor. Honestly, it's not that…
  • Some people's bodies just have that reaction; it's completely natural. I know telling you to just get over it probably isn't helpful, so just try to talk yourself up or something- focus on the positive. "My face going red means I'm working hard and burning calories and being healthy" If it really bothers you, ask one of…
  • If you can afford to, you should try out personal training. I got a sweet groupon package for 5 sessions with a personal trainer in my area, and it has helped immensely! They will correct your form to make sure you're working the right set of muscles and avoiding injury. I had been an athlete most of my life, so I was…
  • For lunch, maybe try eating more slowly (put the fork down in between bites, take a sip of water in between bites, etc.) Actually, use that method for figuring out a binge too. If you have the urge to binge, allow yourself to do so, but put yourself in control by doing it slowly-- that way you're more likely to stop…
  • I'm 5'3"! What kind of fitness goals do you have?
  • Welcome! I would love to give/receive support on here too, so feel free to add me! I'm 21, in the worst shape of my life, and wanting to lose 80 pounds. An easy way to get started on eating right is with those frozen meals by Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice. They're easy to log in on here and can give you a good idea about…
  • I'm 5'3". Lightest (that I know of): 113 Heaviest: 198ish Currently around 195 (just started to work out again) The span between my lightest and heaviest was about a year and half, which is drastic. My goal is just to get down to the healthy range for my height which is around 130ish, and try to work down from there.
  • Hi Kenzie, I'm 21 years old and hoping to eventually drop at least 80 pounds, so I need all the help I can get too! Positive energy is where it's at. I'm friending you! Melisa
  • Thanks for all the responses! All suggestions sound reasonable-- of course, it's much easier said than done, but knowing that other people are going through the same thing makes me try harder! Another step I took recently is keeping less cash on me and giving my credit card to my mom-- now that it's summer and I'm home, I…
  • You're not alone. I always end up exceeding my sugar limit before anything else. I wouldn't worry about sugar from fruit, but I can see how it can be helpful in being accountable for intake of sweets because they can be the biggest source of calories.
  • I've been suffering from depression for almost 10 years, so I can definitely sympathize with you. I have been on and off antidepressants, and the most recent time I went off medication really triggered my binge eating and dramatic weight gain, making a bad situation much worse. I'm new to this site, but I'm here for…
