You could try drinking your workout calories back with chocolate milk or a protein shake after a workout. Or eat small portions of high calorie foods. I like to eat nuts when I need a calorie boost, but don't want to eat a lot.

I like to swim for distance rather than speed. I breathe every four strokes when doing freestyle. I count each stroke in my head. 1... 2... 3... 4... Repeat. It works well for me to keep my pace steady. Good luck in the triathlon! :-)

Merlin!!!!!!!!!! It's a BBC series that takes place in an alternate universe Camelot. Merlin and Arthur are the same age and Uther is still alive. Uther HATES MAGIC!!! So Merlin has to keep his magic a secret. It's full of wacky shenanigans and twists on the Arthurian legend. I love it!

I order what I want (within reason) and ask the server to bring me a take-out box when they bring my meal. I put half of my meal in the box before I even begin eating. I don't log gum. Or when I have a nibble or a sip of something for taste testing purposes. Or my fiber pills (that I take occasionally). Everything else goes in the log!

I take a different approach to my "free day." I don't count my calories on Sundays. However, I DO NOT use it as an excuse to binge on what ever I want! I still eat sensibly, but I like having a little break from the numbers each week. My weekly weigh in is on Mondays so this helps keep me from losing control. :-)

I exercise in the late afternoon after I get out of work. (There's NO WAY I'm getting up at the crack of dawn to exercise before work. NO WAY!!) Sometimes I work out late mornings on the weekends. I figure anytime is a good time if you're exercising!
