This pretty much sums up my issue at the moment! I have not managed to shift anything for 3 months now (I am 3lbs away from goal weight!) and I find myself getting more and more complacent. I am falling off the wagon more often and find old habits startingt o creep back .. This weekend I was over by 400+ cals on Fri, Sat…

There are certain things that I have chosen to pretty much avoid as I now prefer the healthier alternatives. For example I have not had garlic bread this year and I used to have it 3-4 times per week! But I haven't cut out whole food groups - carbs are not the enemy if you eat them in moderation!

Just iron tablets at the moment!

I haven't lost a single lb since I stopped smoking  however I haven't gained any weight either  On the whole I think it's better to gain a bit of weight but be a non smoker!

Where are you going? You can check-out the menu online beforehand so you have a plan A few general rules for eating out * Don't have 3 courses (share a starter and dessert if you have to have them) * If the restaurant do kids meals then order one of those [I find this easier at lunchtimes in less 'posh' places LOL] * Avoid…

I'd get so bored eating exactly the same thing everyday !!! My breakfast is usually pretty much the same each day (different cereal or toppings on toast though) but I do like a bit of varierty with my lunch and diiner.

Unless I do zero exercise (which is very rarely) do I stick to 1200 calories. I have always eaten back my exercise calories so on average am between 1300 - 1500 cals per day.

Swim - a lot - and this will allow you some extra calroies to play with. Drink lots of water throughout the day In the evenings stick to vodka and a low cal mixer or Gin and low calorie tonic. Alternate every alcoholic drink with water Limit yourself to one carb when you hit the buffet but pile up on veg and salad and…

I think they do that to prevent the site being abused..... it is pretty much industry standard that the minimum amount of daily calories should not be below 1200... unless on Dr's advice Of course everyone is different but personally if the whole diet industry tends to agee on the 1200 calorie thing then I am happy to…

I can only guess that by you giving her "witty" answers to her remarks she thought you were 'OK' with her mocking your weight (either that or she is an evil *kitten* !!)

Eat this Shop bought Pizza Express Marghareta [half] = 260 calories Not this: Pizza Hut take away Margherita [4 slices, half a large pizza] = 616 calories saving of 356 calories.

I'm in exactly the same position. I have been between 116-115lbs since early May but my goal is 112lbs. I am thinking that maybe this isn't a plateu but my body telling me it's happy??? I gave up smoking around the time I hit this 115-116lbs wall and wonder if that is part of it?

This is a lunch meal: Eat this - children's M&S pasta meal AND a huge serving of salad = 360 cals Not this - M&S Italian range Spaghetti meatballs = 620 cals 260 calories saved on lunch...

How have you come to your daily totals? Have you worked out 1200 per day, plus exercise cals and then split your cals?

This is one of the cutest threads I have seen on here - welcome aboard!

Sweetie, of course you deserve love and support just like everyone else on these boards but I also think you need to admit to yourself that you some additional support. I don't want to segregate you or make you feel bad but I really do think that people with ED need more help than MFP can offer. I hope you are able to take…

6 months and 19lbs lost so that's about 0.7lbs per week. Although I have been at this same weight for almost 2 months now so 4 months and 19lbs lost is 1.2lbs per week! I am trying to shift another 3lbs but it just isn't happening !!

I feel exactly as you describe if I am eating too little (or eating the wrong stuff!)

I am 5ft 1in and OH is 5ft 11in - he also does a very physical job and probably burns in excess of 1000 cals per day. I used to kid myself that as I didn't eat much in the day I could match his portion size in the evening :embarassed: As someone else said sometimes my OH would even leave some of his dinner and I'd have…

I've always liked this one "What you are afraid to do is a clear indicator of the next thing you need to do." - Anon. This one is also pretty apt "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

Looking at your diary you are going hugely under your daily calories every day (one day you took over 1000 cals LESS than you should have??) You are not missing "a few" calories, you are vastly undereating and MFP will not work for you in the way it should if you continue in this way!
-
You don't appear to be eating back your exercise calories (or even including them in your MFP diary) Therein lies your problem. If you've been doing it this way for months then maybe it's time to try eating back your execrise calories?
-
It sounds amazing actually - you never get anything like that in London (well at least not where I live!) I would suggest eating light and clean in the days before (don't go under your calories but maybe cut back on carbs) just eat lots of fresh stuff - veggies and salad. Also make sure you work out in the days leading up…
-
I get your point - but your phrasing wasn't that great! I am a great believer in making the most of my calories (I have been on 1200 cals for 6 months so I NEED to make the most of them) I know that having a controlled portion of carbs, some tasty protein (normally chicken or turkey prepared with spices / healthy…

Spin the whole moderation thing on it's head. Ban all 'bad' foods from your diet. I guarentee that this will demotivate most people and cause them to binge / purge becuase banning something sets you up to have an unheatlhy relationship with that food. People of a healthy weight / naturally thin people do not have trigger…

I put sedantry but include my daily walking in exercise (as I stick on my trainers to do my walking and try to beat my time etc.. so I do get my heart rate up!)
-
If I left my OH to plan his own dinner everyday he'd live on peanut butter sandwiches LOL!! He doesn't get any pleasure at all from preparing and cooking a nice meal... However I am trying to beat it into him and he can now make a healthy fry-up (under 500 cals!), he makes a lovely Omelette and also makes a mean steak!!…

I don't get in until 7pm so it would be pretty hard for me !! I tend to eat between 8 and 8.30pm and got to bed about 10.30 - 11pm...
