  • I am sorry, but a blanket statement like that is not good advice. I wouldn't guess about gaining muscle - see if there is a BodPod testing center in your area and get your body composition tested. then do it again in three months - the only true way to tell is to test. Or, you can go to a gym or welness center where they…
  • I bet you feel a lot lighter not carrying around that tool anymore!
  • Google 'Bod Pod" its a great method and only costs about $40 if there is one near you. Or, google army body fat test, which is a good estimate only using a tape measure and your height weight and age. Or, go to body building dot com, and they have pics in their forum of people and their percentages, so you can match up to…
  • Thanks for sharing - inspiring!
  • I posed the same question a week ago and got some great answers! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1310331-how-much-weight-did-you-lose-before-family-friends-noticed One of the best points was that people will notice when you go down a size in clothes. If you are wearing the same clothes, it's hard to see a…
  • I agree with sodium. When you pick a food, look at the nutritional info and make sure you pick the one that ins complete with sodium content. For my cheat day, I have 8 old bay wings with a ton of salt. The next day I am always up 2 lbs, then in a few days it goes back down.
  • The 10 year old boy in me is cracking up right now.
  • Thanks for the great discussion - I'm not really discouraged, nor am I expected random people at work to stop me in the hall and exclaim "damn, look at you with all that weight loss!" I'm not giving up by a long shot !! Just curious! What some people said about wearing the same clothes makes a big difference. Keep on…
  • Well obviously it's not, because you are stuck like me and and so many others were. You should google a BMR calculator that includes BF %. Just my personal experience, when I started eating back in my exercise calories (about 3-400 per day), I started losing again, and in a big way.
  • For the past three weeks I was stuck at 226lbs - despite at least a 900 cal deficit per day. I bumped my cals up to 1600 from 1300 and did nothing else different (same workouts, etc) and this week I have lost 2 lbs. I also ate back most of my excercize calories, something that I was afriad to do, but obviously helped.
  • I guess that since I am wearing the same clothes, but with my belt pulled all the way to the last notch now, the difference isn't as noticable. Since I figure I need to go down 4 pants sizes or more, I am not going to spend the money on anything new (I have to wear shirt and tie to work) until I get down at least 2 sizes.…

  • For years I drank at least one Diet soda (coke, pepsi, Dr Pepper, Mt dew) per day. read some bad things and gave up all soda about six months ago. Last night I took a sip of my kids Pepsi - it was so sweet and I couldn't imagine drinking it again. I feel better and the water I am drinking has had a positive effect on me.
  • Here's somehting I stumbled upon that seems like a miracle cure to hunger. Walnuts! I eat about a 1/4 cup from about 9-12 and I am not really hungry for lunch (but do eat) and then Im not hungry till dinner. They are great for you too!
