Yesterday I went to the doctor, where I weighed in at 237.8 lbs. Now, this was at noon, and I had already eaten breakfast and I was halfway through a large bottle of Fiji water. Today I weighed myself right after going to the bathroom, first thing in the morning, completely naked (lol....this is how I do it!). My scale…

The FDA has not made it a requirement for food manufacturers to include potassium on their food labels. It is optional. I think that's why we don't always have potassium included here; it's simply not on the labels to begin with.

It sounds like maybe your family is still stuck in the Atkins-type mindset, where carbs are the devil. Ignore that. However, yes, you should be watching all of your macros. You need to figure out what you should set them to and once you've done that, you can try to hit that goal every day. Just depends on exactly what you…

Astounding. I am from Toledo and Cedar Point is one of my favorite places in the entire world. I am SO EXCITED for you to go there and ride all the rides! The Dragster will literally take your breath away!

Yeah, I recently found that my cholesterol is quite high, as well as my blood pressure. Going back in three months to see if anything is changed. I'm really trying to eat more fruits and veggies, and I've cut down on salt and cholesterol in my food. Does your doctor want to put you on meds?

Yep, this one. This was my first job and I LOVED it. Worked at that old movie theater for about 4 years until they tore it down and sent us all to the fancy new one, where I promptly quit. I loved making popcorn (and eating it, of course), chatting with my coworkers in the down time between movie sets, and watching free…

I like to scroll quickly down the page just to see the beautiful dancing quote boxes. In and out, in and out. Lovely. (only kind of kidding)

This thread is crushing my faith in humanity. Added to some news stories I read earlier about Russia and whatnot, I am having a hard time believing that people can ever be good or kind unless there is something in it for them.

JESUS. I'm sorry that people dismissed your experience in such an awful, cold way. Horrific attitude...

Right, not a binge. We need to stop using these words so casually. A binge is a purposeful (albeit shameful) indulgence in food, alcohol, etc. It is what happens when you know that you are doing them in excess but you can't/won't stop. Next, if this becomes a consistent issue, you need to start planning ahead. Look up the…

Story of my life. And I've tried doing larger breakfasts and lunches to see if that would help, but usually those are the days when I go over by the most. I've just gotten into the habit of eating light during the day and saving up calories for nighttime snacking. It works for the most part.

Nice work! I miss seeing your posts on my feed. :drinker:

It's not a good idea to have this mindset....if you go over, you go over. It's okay. Try to be more consistent, but you have to live your life, ya know? It happens, and that's perfectly fine. If you get into the mentality where eating is something to be punished (even if it's overeating), then this is not going to be a…

I've had this happen from time to time, but it usually only occurs for a second and once I'm up the stairs, it doesn't happen again for awhile (months, sometimes). I live on the third floor, so it usually freaks me out for a day or two and then I forget about it until the next time it happens. I have similar stats: 5'4"…

Exactly this.

My husband and I both sat down at a picnic table at a huge family reunion. Before we could even set down our plates (which were piled up with food), the bench broke beneath us and we went flying backward. Our food went all over and everyone laughed. We heard the same joke all night long: "time to hit the gym, eh?!" Another…

The main point is that you are hydrated, and it doesn't actually matter so much how you do that. Here's an article that explains some of the science behind this and how the arbitrary number of 64 ounces came to be a standard guideline. It also links to some actual science, in case you want to read more.…

The community does not enable poor decision-making. They will always support legitimate forms of weight loss, but magic pills don't make the cut. Just because people are unwilling to validate bogus pills does not mean that they are not supportive. In fact, telling you the honest truth about the pills *is* support. People…

No, but you might consider changing your activity level from "sedentary" to "lightly active" if you are consistently working at the bakery. Most people here will tell you that anything that you do normally should be considered activity and not exercise, and I tend to agree.

Both, I think. I'm not sure, though. She brought it up right after we went over my blood work results, and we had talked about how both my BP and cholesterol were too high.
-
Yeah, you're right. Instead of working with me and the system I have in place (MFP!), she wanted me to do something completely different, and totally general. I think I will look into other people. The reason I went to her is because it is free for students. I guess you get what you pay for, eh?
