See, colloquial usage never bothers me. Sure, it should be "I couldn't care less" but we all know what someone means when they say "I could care less." Language changes over time, and that's fine. It's crazy spelling that does it for me. "Defiantly" is not "definitely." Nor is "definately." Neither of those will ever be…

Yep, this. I know it's probably too late to convince the OP, but at least we can try to reach other people who might be reading this.

Ahh, I see now. You just want the quickest way. Just know that the longer you eat under your BMR, the more damage you're doing to your metabolism. That means longer-term effects and more work down the road trying to reset your metabolism. If you only have 8 lbs to lose, you really should consider these things (everyone…

You look SO young! Adorbs. Congrats on the loss. Your starting weight is right where I started, too!
-
I agree with this, especially since you have so little to lose. You'll look better than if you eat below BMR and only do cardio. At this stage, inches matter more than pounds, anyway.

Fantastic!

Love this thread. Bump.

Best NSV ever!

Don't worry. You're doing well! And now you've gotten some very good advice on how to move forward. But, yeah, just know that if it seems like a shortcut or if it's too good to be true, it is. Just keep tracking and eating at a deficit and you WILL see results!! :drinker:
-
I strongly suggest tracking your calories (we are on a calorie-counting website after all) and setting your weight loss goal to something moderate, like 1lb per week. You don't want to get burned out! Think of this as a permanent change, as lifestyle rather than as a temporary diet.

Oh, GOD. How could you? Everyone knows that bread instantly makes you fat and that it's evil and really it's all part of an agricultural conspiracy. Like, everyone knows that.
-
Oh, I'm sorry. Are we not sufficiently supporting your rant?
-
Oh, but it does. I read it somewhere, and also my grandma told me this and it's totally true. ;)

Totes. :drinker:

LOL. Next time can you make it clear in your title that you don't want people to click on your post? Cause that would be really helpful. Thanks.
-
I guess your arm looks kind of thin, but overall you seem okay. I certainly wouldn't look at you and be instantly alarmed for your health.
-
So, you don't care about doing it in a healthy way? Good luck with that.
-
Was just about to post something similar!

I don't know, I think MFP is inherently different. If you are here and you post on the forums or on your wall, you are kind of asking for support and encouragement. Right? So if I post something about feeling proud for finally getting on a treadmill and people respond with encouragement, that's all quite different than a…

But surely you can see the distinction between giving someone a kind word simply as an act of encouragement and giving a fat person a kind word because you feel "proud" of them for BEING FAT in a gym. Huge difference there. I don't think anyone is eschewing general kindness; rather, people are offended by the condescension…

Fluids are fluids. They all hydrate you, including the fluids in our food. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/eight-glasses-water-per-day/

The big issue here is whether or not you would feel compelled to give the same kind of motivation to someone who is not fat. If the answer is no, then don't do it. You're being wildly condescending. If the answer is yes, then go for it. At least for me, I have no problem with someone telling me that I rock, as long as it's…

That sounds nice, and I wouldn't be offended by that. It's the whole "Aww, look, a fat person" attitude that gets me. The "good for you!" comments.
-
What could possibly be the logic here? You have a daily calorie goal. Eat them.
-
I wouldn't be offended if someone said "Hey, you kicked *kitten* today." But if they said "Hey, good for you for being here," I would probably tell them to go to hell (okay, maybe not actually...but I would think it). That would be extraordinarily condescending. I'm not a child for you to pat on the back in order to make…

Hmm...no Thai or Indian food included in the meal plan. Yeah, I'm out. Good luck!

I don't fit any of the criteria. Bummer. But I'll shamelessly post here anyway because I wanna see where it goes.
