  • I am asking what full feels like for you. I noted it depends on the type of food eaten as well which is why I wrote down the kind of food I ate - not very much like a burger. In hopes it would then be easier to provide an idea. A burger goes down easier due to the bun and full will depend on the size of the meat in the…
  • Thanks so much guys! It's hard explaining how one can binge to the point of such pain. I feel ya!! Couldn't even move how I was sitting. Yes, like sepsis and all - haha! Luckily I did digest 4 hours later though mind you I couldn't drink water properly until the morning... and that means a whole two days of binge food…
  • I am glad it can help! I have been binge free for three days. A new start again and staying hopeful. It feels good ever since I let it out on this thread. Hopefully this can help someone else as well. It is good to be honest with ourselves and then let the past go and never look at the food we binged in our memory again.
  • Yes, it does. It doesn't matter how many calories more so why you felt the need to consume that many fruits and vegetables as there is a point where we stop being hungry. I know because I had to eat 3 full bowls of green beans once just to hit 350 calories of them. And I am assuming that many veggies and fruit your stomach…
  • Hi again embersdream :) Yes, then you probably do have some good muscle mass still. This is good news for when you do start training again. I think you are dealing with big milestones such as moving in with your s/o and coping with a very close death. Did you enjoy exercising before? If you enjoy running outside in the…
  • I wonder if one can convince themselves they are in control during a day fast.. and just succeed that way. Everything feels like denial
  • Well written! You make some solid points here. It does have quite grey areas depending on the behaviours and psychological challenge. I just like you come from a binge eating disorder. However, only later did I develop the restricting part where I'd be on a strict diet out of nowhere or just fast for 40 hours. I'd go…
  • Beautiful read :) I agree with you. Though I only exchange words with 2 friends from MFP so far - the support has been helpful on here. I wish to find more friends too as it truly is inspiring and a lovely thing not to feel alone in this.
  • Hi there, did you mention you started exercising again or your measurements are in a good place in comparison to your weight? You can definitely kick start your weight loss by exercising in the mornings and then have your breakfast of mostly protein. Eat again at lunch, then dinner and maybe one snack in between. If you…
  • For the sake of 'food-to-calorie' visualization of "healthier choices" - that above all added up to about 3000 calories in 3 hours. Healthier food doesn't mean healthier binge. It is still over consumption and the behaviour is very much there. It feels better not to count sometime and just let it out and write it down.
  • I ate so much food I can't even take more than two swallows of water right now. Wondering when the digestion subsides. *hugs back*
  • Ok, I admit it, I had a binge. Date of binge : July 18, 2013 Time of binge : 12:30 pm Location of binge : Home Body language during binge (e.g. Sitting, standing, slumped, tense) : Sitting, standing Company kept (alone, friends, family, partner etc) : Alone Approximate calories consumed during binge : Didn't want to count…
  • Thanks :) Yea, it's really tough. I hope you're feeling okay today. My stomach hurt so much I couldn't even take a full breath. Worst part is that I still didn't want to stop even though it hurt. Almost like testing to see what would happen. I don't know what it really means to be an emotional binger. I don't find that I…
  • Feel free to add me as well :)
  • Great article you guys!! Also this was a great paragraph in the conclusion section: "Based on the available evidence, it’s false to assume that the body can only use a certain amount of protein per meal. Studies examining short-term effects have provided hints towards what might be an optimal protein dose for maximizing…
  • Very cool guys! It's good to know I am not over doing it with the protein. I am eating healthier/cleaner and meet my carbs and fats usually. I just find I go quite high in the protein department. And as usual Vitamin A and C are sky rocketing underneath that. To answer one of the questions above, I am not eating the…
  • Thanks! I feel I could wait until Friday perhaps as much as I would love to get moving. Did some squats this morning but of course it's not the same as a good sweat! The swelling has gone down. I could technically do some exercise in socks. Any suggestions?
  • It is not about being defensive PepperWorm or a matter of being insulted. I understand you were trying to be helpful. The point is, I am past admitting I have a problem. I know I do and I finally came to terms with it to admit that it's more severe than I imagined. I have been working on a healthier lifestyle and I can say…
  • Thanks coco and FitnessBeverl! I love to snack! Gets tricky sometime when also batting BED. Appropriate serving size is easier said than done on my end here. That's always been a trigger. I try to also include my fav snacks or foods with my meal so I am not nibbling too often and then overindulging by binging. I am still…
  • Thanks everyone and KAYRRIE, that's insightful. Thank you. I noticed in my first week of binge-free, when I had a slight urge to binge, I was thinking why not vegetables because they are healthy... but I couldn't do it because a binge is a binge. The action/behaviour is the problem. Well, who knows what tomorrow brings
  • FitnessBeverl: This method you follow is great! I have been good to leave room for snacks I enjoy and don't overindulge on. Dark chocolate is one of them! PepperWorm: Responses like this is what gets me down. I am on here in hopes that I will make friendships that mutually support one another or provide some insight when…
  • I took this test a couple of weeks ago and scored something like 35 - severe. The beauty of this kind of a test for me is that it took me a really long time to admit I was a binge eater.. or that it was at all a problem. I thought others probably deal with it worse and I just wouldn't admit I had a disorder. I was…
  • This calculator says to maintain my weight I should eat 1650 calories per day but 1375 is what I should consume if I want to lose 1 pound per week. This is good! More along the lines of what I was trying to understand. That is the healthy approach and where that 1200 must now makes more sense. As throughout my day I…
  • Thanks Jester! I try to not overstuff myself with vegetables actually. That's one of those things I portion out because I want to save more room for foods that keep me full longer. So about 3 eggs is always my first go to thing in the mornings and it does wonders. To answer your question on what is full, both your hands…
  • Hi Cait! Thanks for that, love trying other sources I can't find on my own. I calculcated at fitnessfrog.com and got exactly 1368. At fat2fitradio.com they stated "Based on this formula, your current BMR is 1371 calories. " But what's awesome about fat2fitradio is they give you your own personal intake when taking into…
  • Yes, that's my total goal and yes, you are right I am naturally lean. The excess weight is 10 lbs total. What do you think about the foods one eats perhaps? I mean if I am eating eggs, yams, spinach, pork, chicken, salmon, hmm I don't know I am eating a lot of straight whole foods and vegetables as well. I am enjoying…
  • I have this flat foot problem as well - yet to find a solution. But I notice it helps not to have laces tight around the highest points of the top of the foot. Also, being able to spread your toes in your shoe is important. I find when my last little two toes get squished in with the other guys that it also creates this…
  • Thank you - anyone else deal with scenarios like this? I think it wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't two days in a row this has happened now. And mid-day. When it comes to losing weight, I care about good sleep, good eating, relaxed prior to and happy exercise (not forced due to eating too much) and in general eating…
  • What helped me is to read up on some articles to motivate myself based on what others did after a binge. I also looked at myself and knew I was unhappy. When I finished a meal and knew I wasn't hungry anymore but naturally wanted to grab something I saw on the kitchen counter, I said no, no nibbling. It can be part of my…
  • I love to make this! It's fabulous! On another note, if you want to skip the pancake some days and make a crepe you can use 2 egg whites and half an egg yolk. Mix, mix and cook on a pan as you would a German crepe. Flip it over, maybe spread some light honey or melt a piece of dark chocolate. Roll it and voila!
