Thanks everyone. I set my activity level as a "Desk Job" since I literally sit at a desk from 6:30am to 3pm. However, I do workout 4 days a week (30min Cardio / 30min Weights). So based on that, it is giving me the 1840 Net Cal per day. Any harm if I don't eat back my calories burned? I have a Polar Solar Heart Rate…

So would that be "3 Days a week" for IIFYM and "3-5 Hrs/Week Moderate Exercise" for Scooby?

I tried MFP a while back and at the time was 198lbs. I've gained 10 due to a death in the family and holidays over the past three months. When I was 198, my Calorie goal was lower than what it is now at 211. Should I go by my calorie goal at 198 or readjust it for my new weight? I'm afraid if I stick to my 198 calorie…

I think I'm getting it. LOL I have a desk job and do 30min cardio and 30 min of weights 4xweek. With Scooby and IIFYM what should I set my activity level as? Same with MFP? Also, sorry... I tried MFP a while back and at the time was 198lbs. I've gained 10 due to a death in the family and holidays over the past three…

Why set them at maintenance?

Thanks guys! So do you think I should start with IIFYM since it seems lower than Scooby's and track it and adjust in a month based on progress?

Thanks everyone so much for your feedback! Sounds like for now I need to just continue to focus on getting to my 1st goal of 190lbs then re-evaluate based on how I look and feel. I just need to keep reminding myself that it's a journey and not a race...

I just had this experience this morning... This week I ate 4500 calories below to meet at least a 1 pound difference from last week. When I got on the scale this morning, I was only down 1/2 pound.... I'm so pissed. Like you were I'm getting very frustrated that the scale is not justifying the blood sweat and tears i'm…

Never heard of a re-feed. Need to look up on that. As far as am I eating enough? I think so based on what the consensus is on various websites when I plug my data in... I think in order to be stagnant, I must have found my maintenance weight for my current weight and need to figure out how to re calc my caloric intake…

Also, below is the information I have gathered: IIFYM.com states my BMR=1929 / TDEE=2737 / TDEE-20%=2189 Myfitnesspal.com states my BMR=1927 / TDEE=2410 / TDEE-500cal = 1910 Scoobysworkshop.com states my BMR = 2080 / TDEE=2496 / TDEE-20%=1996 Kind of varies. I plugged all of my calories consumed since December 1st and I…

When you say the reduced intake of 400, are you referring to the 400/500 MFP reduces to hit my 1lb/week?

So should I only eat back half of the hrm calories?

On the eliptical, I set the resistance to 11 and I use the mode where it is up and down hills. With my HRM, my heart rate is between 150 - 160 for the 30mins. And I am sweating insane where I have to change my shirt before I start my weight training... Also, the Elpitical will say I burned anywhere from 430-445 calories in…

Thank you all so much for taking the time to help me. kgeyser - To answer your questions I am 5'9"" and currently 223lbs (Started at 253). I have MFP set to lose one pound/week. I have had this since last February when I started. My goal weight is around 180-185lbs. I have been doing my exercise routine since July 2013. I…

Thanks guys! There is no way I consumed an extra 3500 above my 20% reduction and working out.... It's just always discourging busting your but eating right and working out to have gained weight. I even turned down free chick-fil-a and cake twice this week!!

I am looking to really estimate the amount of calories I am burning while lifting weights. Based on the above comments, I assume the Polar HRM is ideal for this. Is this true and if so, which model specifically?
