  • I will start using a different chicken breast option in the MFP database. The one I've been using simply says "breast, boneless, skinless" and the portion is 1.0 breast. I'm pretty sure, since my husband and I split one piece, we are eating approx 4 oz. Thanks for the help.
  • You can also take aspirin, which will lower your body temperature and help stop the skin from burning further.
  • When you want to add a food to a meal, you can select to show either foods for that particular meal, or to show foods for "All Meals". I also think you can sort alphabetically, since it sounds like we don't have the option to delete foods - which is too bad because like you, I no longer eat some foods and would like to…
  • I sometimes eat too few calories myself - like today. I had a satisfying dinner and didn't eat back my exercise calories. Since I'm just headed to bed, I won't worry about eating more, although I'll probably be ravenous in the morning. I wouldn't worry about the occasional short day, just don't make it a habit, because it…
  • I agree! I try to keep processed food to a minimum.
  • I agree with Lady Nocturne. It sounds like you aren't eating enough. Also, at 5'8", 156 lbs sound pretty darn good! I myself am maybe 1/2" taller than you and my goal is 160. I could maybe do 150, but don't know if I want to starve myself to get there. I find it really difficult to believe you haven't lost anything doing…

  • I'd like some ideas for this topic, too! I am having trouble with feeling slightly hungry after every meal. Would love that full feeling while staying within my calorie range. I was going to suggest steamed broccoli - you can eat a ton, and maybe air-popped popcorn. We've been eating a lot of fresh halibut lately, and it's…
  • One thing about drinking water: The more you drink, the more you want. Try carrying a bottle of water with you, or keeping it within reach all day. If you prefer hot drinks, try hot water with a lemon wedge. It may take some getting used to, but once you do, it will be easy to drink your daily 8 glasses. Also, you say you…
  • I can hear the pain in your words. Self-defeating attitudes only make the situation worse, you know. Easy for me to say, when i'm the queen of negative self-talk! I agree with the others that if you want progress, you have to stop making excuses. I'm in the same boat with lots of aches and pains that seemed to begin the…
  • Plenty of other species drink the milk of other species: Cats, Dogs, Cows, Chickens, Birds... Shall I go on?
  • You can get as many answers to this question as there are people on this board. I also think that 145 sounds like a healthy goal weight. I know for sure that the charts in the doctor's offices are too low, so don't go by those, or at least add 5-10 pounds to what they recommend. It's strange how we all carry our weight…
  • Welcome! I'm also new here, and really enjoying the experience so far. I find that logging my food and exercise almost feels like a game. Best of luck to you!

  • Way to go! I'm also at Day 9. Haven't weighed myself yet, because I had to buy a scale. Since I'm existing on 1200 cals a day, I sure hope I'm down a bit from my start of 204. Keep up the good work!
  • Hi Donald. Welcome, and best of luck with your weight loss and fitness goals! Sherry
