We are on a very, very tight budget this summer. We shop at Aldi. The produce is hit and miss. The lettuce has been great (1.99) and lasts about a week. I also get avocadoes there. We don't typically buy meat there. However, we have some in the fridge right now. Sure, I'd love to buy grass-feed ground beef, but NO way is…

I believe you right. She has associated his autism to the shots. We did a delay vax for our 6 yo; oldest had all, on time (I didn't know any better). Back to the topic...The View is my least favorite talk show, so I won't watch it that much. To be fair, I don't watch much daytime talk shows...I work during the day. When…

CW: 280 (7/12 weigh in) GW for Challenge: -30, so 250 (although I'd really like to be less) I weigh in on Fridays.

Awesome! When I hit 'onederland" I'll be hooting and hollering! Great job!

Our scale is broken. It has me weighing about 50-60 lbs. less! I was using the scale at the Y; for consistency, but I'm not going this summer. I go to my doctor's office. I don't live that close to it, so I've gone 2x this summer (I started getting serious about 30 days ago). I noticed that my Wii Fit scale is pretty close…

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to both of you! Love is everywhere!!:flowerforyou:

Feel free to add me. I have 100+ to lose; my ticker is a goal weight. I'm like you. I started MFP a few years ago at my highest-310. I never seem to stick with it for more than a few weeks. I'm on 30 or 31 days now and plan on going for another 300 or so! :) I'm down 30 lbs., from my highest. I have lost 5lbs. in those 30…

I have arthritis in both knees and in June got plantar fascistic which actually seems to affect my ankle more. It is hard to bear weight on it at times. I do swim. If you can, water walk or jog. See if you can do water aerobic classes. My knees are usually a problem, but I do have to be careful of my ankle--but I just…

The more active you get, he will either get on board...or not. You can't let him hold you back from the things you want to do. You keep making healthy lifestyle changes. My husband has only told me one time in 15 years of marriage that I need to lose weight. It was within the past 6 months and it was out of love and…

I was going to suggest hypothyroidism. I will get cranky/moody and my dh will ask if I've had my medicine. I have noticed that I get very grouchy when I'm hungry. I need to be better with having a snack on hand and making sure I have enough protein.

I was going to suggest hummus. If you buy and don't like it, is there another family member that would eat it? It will take time and experimenting to figure out what you like. Could you buy a vegetable and then have your mom cook it with dinner? Is there a specific reason she won't let a 19 year old touch the stove? Not…

HI! I will strive for 50 pounds, but my goal will be 30lbs. I am a slow loser. I'm from NC! I will eat at/under my calories that MFP gives me; but will only eat about 1/3 of my exercise calories--not sure how accurate they are. Exercise: bike riding, Walk Away the Pounds DVD, swimming and water aerobics. Highest Weight:…

I would love to lose 50 by NYE, but considering I lost 5lbs in 30 days...not sure i can reach 50. I'll say 30lbs....hoping for 50lbs., but I'd be ok with 30! I lose very slowly.

Really? We don't usually buy our meat there--I will need to start looking!

Carrots, red peppers, pita Yummy!

I get the unsalted almonds. Their crackers are good. My kids like the Fit and Active mini rice cake snacks. They aren't natural, though--clean speaking. I love the hummus!!!!!!!! We do 90% of our shopping there--budget purposes.

Great price! I have the Y-I use the pool more than anything. I am not ready to try the classes, yet. In the fall, we'll add our family; so close to $100. Also, check with your local Y--they have scholarships for families/people if the income is a certain level.

What exactly is clean? Grinding the wheat berries yourself? Nothing with additives? No sugar? No cheese? Curious. I keep hearing this and I hear different things. What are some "cleaner" choices for those a strict food budget?

I was at a community pool and it was so hot (Orlando), I went to ask if there was an empty conference room I could use--one girl (she was no older than 18) said can't you use the bathroom. I told her-Do you eat in the bathroom? I just found some couches and fed my babe. I was looking for a cool place. I had a hard time BF…

I look at as a month; weighing every week or even every day gets me frustrated. For some people, they weigh every day and it works for them. i found a need a balance of not checking it often.

Awesome! I saw your other post and didn't realize it was you (changed your profile picture!). I'm also from Buffalo.

I'd love this! Is it ok if we vary our exercise?

Quinoa-do put it with pasta sauce? I have some but haven't used it yet.

I was feeling that way and I am looking at what I am eating and when. Yesterday I was very hungry and went WAY OVER MY CALORIES (haven't logged them-not sure how--I might just add 1,000). I noticed that when I have cereal w/milk for breakfast that I get hungry. I have been drinking more water, which is helping.

Add me! I'm 43 and a teacher; I have two boys-14 and 6. I'll really need some motivating friends when work starts again.

I don't have a scale that works at home; besides the Wii Fit board. I will go to my doctor's office on Friday to weigh myself. I did it about 2 weeks ago. Weighing myself every day was not good for my mental state. I even had my husband take the scale to work/hide it. That was many years ago.

OP-CONGRATS!!! You set a goal. I can relate. We were eating fast food breakfast 3-4 days a week! I would get oatmeal, but most times I would get a #2 or a # (McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit). For me it wasn't good--sodium too high. I try to watch it, but don't always keep it under 1500-2000mg a day. I use to live near a Burger…

That is awesome!!! I go back to the dr. in December and I want to have great appt., too. I have high blood pressure (on meds) and my blood work for everything else is pretty good (surprisingly). It is the fact that my sugar and cholesterol are within normal range that motivates me.
