Actually it was 315 lolol.

Deficit deadlifts are normally done with the bar on the floor and the person standing on a plate or block. Once you elevate the bar, it negates the whole idea of a deficit deadlift; you are pretty much moving the bar closer to yourself making the exercise more like a regular deadlift.
-
But still... why couldn't he just pull from the floor? After all, he is using bumpers.
-
And he was trying to teach the guy behind him the BS exercise. I really hope this guy is not a trainer because everything is wrong with this picture :0!
-
Why??
-
Here's a picture for reference. This guy was also hoarding bumper plates... I guess to fuel his ego and look strong?? But there are only 4 sets of 45lb bumper plates and lucky for me, there was one set left to help me and my hobbit legs get leg drive for bench press. Smh!!

I've been focusing on powerlifting for almost a year. I started out doing CrossFit but realized that deadlifts were my thang (before training powerlifting specific, I had a 210lb pull) and that I wanted to improve upon my squat. I also did stronglifts 5x5 a bit from August through October, and I learned that I had a pretty…

Did anyone see Jen Thompson bench last night?!? Holy shnikes!! 313lbs at 134lbs body weight!!! She is seriously the GOAT!!
-
Yeeah I mostly end up doing the triumverate and boring but big--which is all in the name. Maybe I'll test out some joker sets next cycle. GZCL just looks so cool. My friend's doing it and one of his accessories is slingshot bench which looks super cool!

5/3/1 is more for intermediate lifters. I mean you can do it as a beginner, but its best for those who have experience with the big 3 lifts and OHP and who want to continue building strength with those lifts. While sets are easy and logical, it is by no means for a beginner as it requires you to establish a "training max"…
-
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I mean I haven't hit any plateaus yet which is good. And I know progress with wendler is supposed to be super slow, but I would like more variety in my training. And yeah I get the impression that GZCL is customizable but I feel like I'd go a little haywire if left to my own devices with…

https://youtu.be/Iq4ZuypowLM I did a push/pull meet this sunday so here's all the footage!!! I too PR'd 253.5lbs for deadlift. Got 1 red light on lift and was an RPE of 7 or 8 I'd say. Bench went meh but I still won silver in my weight class and gold in my age division for it. Go figure!!
-
Good luck dude! You are so prepared you are gonna crush it!!!
-
It's only a push pull but thank you!!
-
5 days out from my meet here. You guys are making me want to lift all the weights but I have to let my CNS recover!! :o !!
-
I always train with a full stomach, waiting AT LEAST 1 hour until after I eat to train.
-
I have never been a member of a planet fitness, but personally I would not be interested in going. It all depends on your goals. If you want to do squats, deadlifts, and bench press with equipment other than a fixed barbell or a smith machine, then it is not for you. However, if you enjoy strength and bodyweight training,…

All oly lifts are terrible for me. I can probably OHP 90lbs or so--haven't tested maxes but I did 80lbsx4 recently, and I can bench 140, but I can't clean over 100lbs to save the life of me and last I tested snatch, I maxed at 75lbs. Yeeah, I'm just gonna stick with powerlifting. Olympic lifting is not in the cards for me…

OHP and deadlifts. I'm so inconsistent with my set up for them and I feel so in my head for them; DLs have been feeling no bueno lately. And OHP is just my weakest. I am liking bench a lot but I am kind of peeved by my lack of arch, even with set up efforts. I guess lack of torso isn't too helpful? *shrugs*

I wear pendlay do wins. They don't have the largest variety of colors and they may not be the best but they are definitely a cost efficient lifter and I dig them!
-
My biggest pet peeve is people that hover around you when you're using any piece of equipment. And instead of being courteous and asking how many sets you have left, they just stare at you. Go away please! Also, like many of you, I dislike when people don't unrack their weights or when they don't strip the bar. I may be…

literally looks like a resistance band attached to a belt. I wouldn't spend any money on it bleh.

This looks like something out of Funky Forest oh mah lawd!! As for the OP why have you started this creepy thread? Just look up fitness porn because that's probably a thing.

I agree it is definitely a great beginner program, especially if you start with the recommended starting lifts. However, plateaus happen and you may find yourself struggling at a certain point but that's ok.You will get stronger :)!!
-
Agreed. Also, play around with your hand positioning. For me, I'm not super comfortable with a super narrow grip, but I know a wide grip can compromise stability; so I work to put my arms in a position that's a nice in between and I've become used to it. Also, paying attention to how you set up to unrack can be helpful to.…

Thank you :]! Haha I guess I am a nervous talker! And luckily it was my 3rd attempt in this mock meet and final squat of the day soo I only needed to preserve energy for bench and deadlift wooo!
-
Maybe some bedazzling too. Then everyone will know this is a woman's-- or fabulous human being's--belt.
-
I have a strength shop USA lever belt. Its also pink but my guy friends like it too!!
-
Ran a mock meet and PR'd my squat by 10lbs. 190lb squat kitten 2 grass so I guess I'm ready for 200lbs now :p! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgqyShi-4q4

You can still probably do some unilateral training in your arms as well if your are still interested in it. And if the MD provides you with and AROM or specific exercises, follow his programming. Just because there is an injury does not mean we need to stop training specific areas; there are always ways to adapt. You can…
