Check out my recipe for Taco Salad with ground turkey.... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/488271-taco-salad-with-homemade-taco-sauce My homemade taco sauce has 70-75% less sodium than those premade taco seasoning packets which have 330-400 mg of sodium per serving and 1200 mg per packet. Not only that, but the…

1 serving of meat should be the size of a closed fist.... or 4 ounces. 1 and a half pounds of chicken breast is 24 ounces, or 8 servings.

Thanks Labrat59, It was quite delicious. My dad commented my taco sauce was much better than the stuff you make using those seasoning packets. Not only that, but the sauce itself has only 204 mg of sodium per serving where as the Lawry's Taco seasoning has 660 mg of sodium (if you change the number of servings from 10 to…

Hey everyone, I saw this topic and thought I would reply, especially since I could contribute something that most people wouldn't think of. Here's a picture: We have some Birdseye steamfresh green beans, salad with lite raspberry/walnut vinigarette dressing, and the meat is 4 ounces of very lean Deer Backstrap Chops baked…

It has been one year, as of yesterday, since I have started on this journey to lose weight. I have lost 43.2 lbs in the last year alone, on top of the 4 lbs I lost prior from my highest weight. My body fat % has gone down from somewhere between 50 and 60% to low to mid 30's. I have also lost a total of nearly 40 inches all…

More savory than sweet. If it were sweet it's lean moe toward regular yogurt, not the Greek. I tend to sprinkle my cottage cheese with nothing but pepper and eat it with pineapple or grapes if I have any on hand. I also like my cottage cheese low sodium, non fat and low "whey" and high curd.

I recently have gone out on some walks on a trail near a river by my house. I took some amazing photographs and just had to share them with all of my fitness pal friends. I had to share these gorgeous pictures with you all to show what you can find just by deciding to get up off your butt, go for a walk and just look…

Congrats on your great and superb effort. @ CraftyOlBroad - don't feel ashamed. As long as it's in moderation, keep up on your exercise, and it's only once in a while you're fine. once a month or even once a week is NOT going to kill you.

Justjoshin is right, I worked for over a year at a subway and I can tell you that the meat, bread, and at least the olives are not really that good because they are canned and or processed foods. The meats while not the worst quality aren't the best either. And the bread isn't really whole grain. I know that when you eat…

I have met Edward James Olmos (from "Selena"), Texas Battle (from "Bold and the Beautiful"), and Eileen Dietz (the Demon Face of Pazuzu in "The Exorcist"). I also went to the same high school as James Marsters (Spike from "Buffy" and "Angel") and live in the town where George Lucas grew up and was inspired by to write…

I agree, there are some women in the media who are naturally that thin. Then there are those like Kirsten Dunst who force themselves to become tinier than they should be healthily. I think Kirsten looked better at her healthiest in "Elizabethtown" or "Bring It On" where she was healthy and toned. Also, if you look at one…

I know the fear. WhenI was 17 I was in a car accident where I rolled my car 3 times. It was an accident that should have seriously injured me, if not killed me considering it was a really compact car. However, by the Grace of God, I was wearing my seat belt and that saved me. The worse injury I got in that accident was a…

I agree, you're looking hot. And you are so right in wanting to make it a Lifestyle change and not a temporary one. Anyone who has done serious research knows that you will be unable to maintain you new weight unless you maintain your change in exercise and nutrition.
