I keep a drawer full of healthy snacks at work: protein bars (I love Think Thin - have half when I'm extra hungry), nuts, jerky, fruit, etc. I have everything pre-portioned already so I don't have to guess or stop myself from finishing the whole bag. I like sweets too but I only allow myself one or two mini size…

All I can say is this whole "Excuses" marketing campaign did it's job. People are talking about fitness. And I think that's great. Maria is inspiring. All you MFP Success Stories are inspiring. Following the pages of discussion on this topic reaffirms to me that I have been making excuses for not being as fit as I could…

YES! Exactly what she said.

You brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing journey and gift to yourself, your family and your friends that you are now healthy! WTG!

Thanks for this. Bump!

I agree. Wish they made it in "single serving" size...because if I bought it now, I would have a hard time not finishing the whole container!

This works for me too!

Thanks for the recipe site recommendations! I have been getting stuck in a rut eating the same things and love to hear about other options!

Yum, sounds great!

Drink... You can certainly have your wine (or whatever alcohol) but in moderation. Of course, pay attention to the wine. Some are very high in sugar (dessert wines) and others have little or no residual sugar. Stay with dry wines since they will be lower in calories. I love sparkling wine - I just pour myself half glasses…

Great info. Sexypants is a great goal too!

Does anyone know which women's stores sell by exact measurements instead of the standard 2,4,6,8...? I would much rather buy clothes that way to grab it and know it fits as opposed to finding something that's a small 14 or a large 10... Like someone else said, it doesn't really matter about the size but how it makes you…

If anyone is thinking about taking a cruise, I came across this great article as a way to manage your eating during that time. http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=1517&et_cid=985075&et_rid=83151458 I loved the idea of ordering half portions and had never heard of doing that...only ordering multiple appetizers and…

Wow! You must feel so good about that accomplishment!

I second this. I have one or half a bar when I have those hungry days and that seems to help a lot to fill me up.

This is something I need to make part of my schedule like you all are doing. Very inspiring! Thanks for the ideas on how to "fit it in". My daughter is 8 and has soccer practice twice a week. I'm thinking I should take that hour she works out and make myself work out too!

Way to go on losing 24 lbs in 2 months. That's incredible! I wish I could have lost mine that fast... but everyone is different. The only one you should compare yourself to is yourself. You know what you've gone through to get there and how far you want to go. You should be proud of that. Start taking photos of yourself. I…

I love wine tastings... This has been my downfall in the past but I have made a pact to myself that I will only taste and spit the wines when I do this. I know some people find it gross, but that works for me, especially if you go to wine festivals. It helps you control your alcohol and calorie consumption. If I don't like…

I'm 5'4"...am I too tall? SW 185 lbs GW 135 lbs I'm just about halfway to goal... I keep 100 calorie bags of nuts for any time cravings... that seems to help!

Wow! Way to go. I wish I had many starting weight pictures. Good that you have this to really show the difference.

My goal is 29 pounds. Then I would hit my goal and give myself the best Christmas present ever!

I agree with Soapstone. I have been following a 1200 calorie per day diet for 3 months. I find that every week 3 or 4, I have been plateau-ing until I eat a little more than the 1200 and the next day, I lose. It doesn't seem to make sense but your body can think it's in starvation mode and stop trying to lose. Just relax…
