Thats a pretty specific concearn, I hope you can find someone with a similar situation. As for the deficit, to keep your weight loss healthy you should strive to keep a healthy deficit of 500-1000 calories a day. myfitnesspal can only be as accurate as the parameters you set into your goal. If you are more active then you…

Only if you eat enough to stay above the minimum daily amount. You really shouldnt look at eating 900 calories as a perk... it is unhealthy and if done repetitiously can lead to your body slowing its metabolic rate in compensation. The number varies from person to person but you should always strive to eat over 1,200-1,500…

1cup of fiber or bran cereal with 1cup 2% milk. 3 fiber/protien bars 1 healthy choice cafe steamer or similar cheese sandwich or cottage cheese small portion all evenly spread out over the entire day eat every 3 hours small portions tons of water my menu does vary day to day to get proper nutrition, but thats the basics.

You use your net to see how much of a deficit you are at since it subtracts your execise from your intake. Take your net and compare it to your goal.

Welcome. Based on your goal of 15 pounds and your ultimate weight of 120 you are probably 135 now? Depending on your height that is probably a healthy weight for you and the last 15 pounds that you are trying for will be tough. With a solid diet plan and some good exercise I know it will be possible though. Calculate your…

I feel your pain friend. I started my diet/fitness plan the 1st of January and around the 10th of February I rolled my ankle badly. But through steadfast determination I was on the stationary bike with my boot peddling away. I managed to get out of my boot in 2 weeks and my weight loss rate did not even hiccup. You can do…

You will find X number of people saying the eating late is a myth and you will find the same X number of people who say its legit. There are studies proving both sides I am sure. I have seen Dr.Oz advocate not eating too late. As long as your active you should be able to adjust your eating times to reflect your new work…

Working out multiple times a day can increase the chance of an injury depending on the type and intesity of the workout. I would say that you should try and make each session different then the other. Push ups, sit ups, strength for one session and a solid cardio session for the second. If you want to do cardio for both…

Mission accomplished. (Mario 1up sound) . . . . . . . . I know you all just heard it in your heads.

Take this energy being spent on mediocre attention getting and focus it on a sweat inducing, heart pounding workout. (real intention of this is to be rude and make you think I am a **** by calling you an attention monger and maybe make you angry, thus when you work out you can use that anger to push harder. If hating me…

A) Eat every three hours. If its not time for a meal eat a fiber bar or a bar with some protein (cliff bar, fiber one bar, fiber plus). B) Go for foods and meals that are high in fiber and protein since protein fills you up and helps combat the hunger pains. C) Drink lots of water. I strive for 64-128oz of water a day…

That's fantastic. Keep a disciplined check in routine (as in don't weigh every day and measure every day) because you will find the daily fluctuations will get disgruntling and break your spirit. I personally do once a week but you can tailor that to whatever keeps you happy. Best of luck and if you need any advice or tips…

The scale obsession is a tough one. You really need to try to weigh once a week and keep a solid focus on your diet. The body can fluctuate 3+ pounds up and down each day and that can frustrate even the most successful of us. Try to cut back as much as you can cause watching the scale that much is just gonna break your…

That's fantastic and welcome. I have a lot of good tools I am using for my success that I would be happy to share for you to extrapolate your own program from. Best of luck on your journey and I will root you on from your friends list.

That's the joy of a social method of information gathering, you get a bunch of opinions for numerous people (many of which nuke it to death and ignore key points of someone Else's opinions so that they can then claim they are wrong). To everyone that says 1200 is incorrect... its a guideline. If you can't extrapolate how…

The closer you get to the healthy weight for your height and age the harder it will be to burn those last few pounds healthily. So it will slow down and not necessarily mean you are in starvation mode. Keep adjusting your goal by putting in your new weight and it will modify your calorie needs to achieve the goal.
-
Also keep in mind, when your body enters starvation mode, the caloric intake it needs to not burn fat lowers below 1200 calories. So once you get into starvation mode, there is a chance that the caloric intake that got you into that mess (<1200 calories) will then be enough to sustain you and no longer burn fat. So you…
-
No, starvation mode is a slowing of the bodies metabolism. It still burns fat just much slower. If you were in starvation mode for long enough to burn through all the fat then yes your body would then begin burning lean tissue. No matter how much body fat you have you can still go into starvation mode if the criteria I…

Right, are you keeping your intake before exercise above 1200 or so?

Forum topics are ordered by when they had activity last (comments). People say bump to bring the forum topic back to the top of the list of most recent forum topics so that more people will see it and potentially respond.

Starvation mode is a state in which the body is responding to prolonged periods of low caloric intake levels. During short periods of caloric abstinence, the human body will burn primarily free fatty acids from body fat stores. After prolonged periods of starvation the body has depleted its body fat and begins to burn lean…

There anything stopping you from planning the night out as a cheat day where you can go over your 1200 limit? Thats all I do.

Just keep in mind farting can cause cancer if you live in California! They will claim anything causes cancer to get funding to research it for half the cost and discover it doesnt.

Well executed!

Gonna second good ol'McFadden on that one. Taking action with the intention to kill yourself is NOT the same as taking an action that MAY have the result of killing yourself. Otherwise taking a damn shower could be an act of commiting suicide.

Sounds right. Less then 200 calories. 180ish I would say. Since you ate half.
