My husband and I have always been very active with hiking, backpacking, kayaking and anything outdoors. It was a very hard year last year, and I stress ate myself to 202 pounds. Even just small hikes would cause me sweat like a river, and I could not catch my breath, and I could hear my heart pound in my ears and it…

I am going to put my scale away for a month. We all get focused on that number and we gauge our success by it, but there are so many more positive things happening in our bodies that are not reflected by the scale. THANK YOU!

I weighed 148 when I met my husband. We had a very stressful start to our marriage, and I ended up at 220. It wasnt until we went on a trip to Mackinac Island and I couldnt even bike around it, do any interior hiking, or even just walk around town without wanting to hurl. I started my first round of MFP last August and…

for snacks I bring dates and figs, apples, grapes, dried apricots and some nuts and trail mixes (for hiking energy) Bagels work well with natural PB if you will be hiking, you'll need the energy. I make egg beaters and grilled ham or chicken sausage. If its chilly, oatmeal. You can even make whole wheat pastas, and grill…

Adipex is phentermine, half of the original phen-phen combination that was deemed unsafe back in the 90's. It's a stimulant and can be habit forming. Be careful with it, if you experience anything you are not sure about call your physician. I am a firm believer that if you cannot lose weight without the aid of supplements,…

I agree and thank you for saying it. I thought everyone here had a common goal of losing weight. Not everyone is saavy about foods and how the body works, or we would all be thin and healthy. It's a learning process, and we should be helping with that process. Unhealthy habits and behaviors don't appear over night, and…

I like Cahmpion from Target, and Danskin from Walmart. Inexpensive, but decent quality.

I made this last night using broccoli slaw instead of coleslaw (because it was on hand). VERY tasty, Stuffed it into a whole wheat pita and it made a great warm weather meal! Thanks!

I agree, if you're drinking from the tap, try bottled water, or get a Brita pitcher and filter the water, or one that attaches to your faucet and see if it makes a difference.

I drink it because it helps to prevent kidney stones from forming. I had to have a lodged stone surgically removed last year and would prefer to to not do that again. My urologist also said that lemons help with your immune system (vitamin c) and is a natural diruetic, which could help with shedding water weight.

I used to eat Better 'N Peanut Butter. It's not bad. Now I just eat Natural PB, Almond Butter, Soy Nut Butter in small quantities. I love fruit butter too in small amounts, like fig butter and pumpkin butter. http://www.betternpeanutbutter.com/index.php

I've noticed the same thing, and don't normally post because of it.

Maybe try a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with lettuce and tomato and a REAL pear? There's alot of sugar in canned fruit and you will be hungry again in a half hour. Add some protein and fiber to balance and eat fresh whole fruit when you can.

I keep it non food related, and something I like, but dont normally buy for myself so they really do feel like a reward, like a trip to Charming Charlies for a new purse, or to Bath and Body works for a great new lotion, or a or manicure, a that great pair of sandals that has finally gone on sale. Some times we get so…

I was a full blown binge eater. It started as stress eating and grew from there into a dark dark thing that took on a life of its own. It became a full blown psychiatric disorder, and with 2 years of intense therapy, now have the coping mechanisms I lacked that started the whole cycle. I have lost a total of 48 pounds, and…

Wine with dinner. A Saturday tradition...

The idea behind calorie cycling is to randomly change your calorie intake so your body does not get used to the same, continuous deficit for a long period of time, and go into starvation mode where weight loss can stall. Some say it works, some say it doesnt.
-
I like dried cranberries and sunflower seeds in mine.

You need to eat enough calories or your body will go into starvation mode and stall. Once you are in starvation mode, the only way to fix it is to make your body think it's getting enough calories, which also includes eating more... sooo.... save yourself the aggravation and eat the required calories. Add calorie dense…

I love my garlic press. I hate chopping garlic.

I do something similar, adding about a 1/4 cup of a healthy cereal, like Kashi, Grape Nuts, or Bran, for a little crunch and texture. I will try this also, thank you!
