Good Day Everyone, I'm back after being gone for a few years. In the past, I've used this site for weight loss. It has worked, but now at 60 I'm dealing with what so many of us deal with, chronic pain. My goal is to track my food and learn what my pain triggers are. I know that some of them are processed foods and meats,…

I just finished day ten with the Whole 30. One thing I have noticed almost right away is since starting the diet my feet and ankles are not swelling with the hot weather. Usually when it gets over 100 degrees, my feet look like pillows and my toes touch each other. I am loving the fact that they look normal. I don't know…

Thanks for answering my question. I think once I am done with Whole 30 I may switch to Paleo. I just won't eat much of the animal fat.

I still have to get up a couple times a night. But I find sleeping on my side instead of my back helps.

What is the difference between Paleo and Whole 30? They seem kind of the same except I have noticed that Paleo allows nut flours and a few other items.

Wow Tiffiany that is great. I just finished day two. I am excited about this change. I can't wait until my first 30 days are over. So far, I have noticed, no swelling in my feet and ankles. Less salt is making a difference.

I am looking for recipes. Those two sound good.

Hi My name is Julie and I am starting my Whole 30 tomorrow June 30th. I spent today shopping and planning out some meals. My boss has been telling me about it and how it has helped his wife with her pain. I am excited. It will be tough but I can't wait to see how I will look and feel at the end of 30 days.

Something else I thought of today. When eating your fruits and vegetables, think of a rainbow. Make sure to eat as many colors as possible. Get a printout of the different colors of fruits and veggies and the nutrients in each. Prevention Magazine his done this a couple of times. It is nice to see the different nutrients…

It is nice to see that I do a lot of the tips already. Thanks everyone. Something I can add, besides my biking and occasional swimming, is I own a couple of dogs. My little guy has no problem letting me know that he wants his walk. Also I cook a lot. I add a lot of vegetable to my meals. Mainly onions, bell peppers,…

Count me in. I have lost 11 pounds so far. But, if I step it up, I can do 20 pounds by Christmas.

You have youth on your side. Follow the others' suggestions and you should be just fine.

I love the Hidden Valley Ranch commercial where it sends the message to kids and their parents that without this product, veggies are not tolerable. Let's add extra fat to something that good in its natural form. Recently I watched a report about childhood obesity in the U.S. According to it, only about 10% of parents will…

Your recipe sounds really good. I actually just made some beans, so I could use them for this. I like the low sodium content.

I try to eat more protein in the morning. It does tend to make me feel full longer. Though, I do try to keep a piece of fruit with me as a mid-morning snack or have my breakfast about two hours after I have gotten up. I find waiting, helps me less during the day. Usually, I save my oatmeal for the night, it tends to put me…

Since I started, i have lost 7 pounds in 4 weeks. The first week, it was four but I think that had something to do with my period coming on that week. I am thrilled with the loss that I am having. A few years back, I went on a program where I used Alli and waitressed 30 to 35 hours a week. I was very diligent about what I…

I put them in my oatmeal along with flax meal before I cook it.

I will try this sauce.

I usually give myself one cheat day a week. When I do, I try to keep it to one meal that day and eat sensible the rest of the day. I still log what I ate as best I can. Also, I will do an extra workout to justify the cheat meal. With that, I usually only go over 200 to 300 calories at the most.

Hi my name is Julie and I will be 50 in October. Two years ago I had quit a waitressing job because of injuries. Since that time, I put on roughly 25 lbs. At that point, I needed to drop about 15 lbs, so now I have the double whammy going on. I can feel it in my knees, ankles and feet. I've decided it is time to get things…

Hi Everyone, My name is Julie and I live in So Cal in the Palm Springs Area. I've decided it is time to shed some 40+ pounds that I have put on over the last ten years. I am approaching my 50th birthday and I do not want to be one of those over 50+ with way to much weight. So far, my cholesterol, blood pressure, blood…
