If you're working out, eat more protein. It will help you burn more fat than muscle.

If you continue with that exercise routine you shouldn't have to worry about a big drop in your bmr. Add some more lean protein to your diet for added calories.

Khrys is right about the weight coming back quicker. On the days when you play basketball you should really be eating more. Going into starvation mode is extremely counter productive. If you want to keep the weight off, you need to change your entire lifestyle, not just your diet. Good luck and hang in there.
