  • childfree by choice! I am 29 and have never had the desire, and doubt that it'll ever show up. It sounds really horrible, but I feel like I have better things to do with my time/life than raise kids. My husband feels the same way. We've always been childfree and loving it, and we've been together 10 years and married 6.…
  • juice is always a good way to add back calories. When I have a really good workout, and a couple hundred calories at the end of the day, I'll have a small bottle of mango or guava juice. Also, you could drink a smoothie with additional protien, or get a Starbucks. Lastly, you could just enjoy life and have something fun--…
  • I am 5'2" and I started at 160 (Dec 2009). I reached my first goal a few weeks ago 135 (May 2011), and I am looking to lose maybe 10 more? I am not concentrating so much on the number at this point, but just getting stronger and doing more weights/cardio. I fit into a size 4/6, and just cleaned my closet of all my size 10…
  • yeah, I think about it in terms of what I do for a living or the majority of the day. I would consider "very active" to be something like construction, lineman, firefighter, etc. where you are working = cardio/strength workout.
  • you're well above starvation mode... you'll burn less calories working out as your weight decreases. I'd try it for 2 weeks and see what happens.
  • The slowcooker may be your best friend!!! There are a ton of great recipes. Check out the 365 slowcooker blog for ideas. I just made Turkey Chili in my slow cooker. Add fritos (1 oz) and cheese (.5 oz shredded superfine) and it's a GREAT meal. I think that we may be near each other... it's hotter than Hades out there.
  • Here are some suggestions: -- limit the naan and rice. Both are high in carbs and calories. Often the naan will have extra butter added on top once it's been cooked in the tandoor -- tandori chicken is great. It's chicken that been marinaded in yogurt and spices and then grilled/tandoored. -- for veggies: bhindi (stir…
  • way to go to on your NSV. I think that making sure that we don't eat the junk that's around our offices is often a difficult first step to make. The other interesting thing about your post is the idea that the daycare is feeding the kiddos unhealthy food. It's interesting to think about what will happen to those kids, and…
  • I find that a good workout mix (music) is key!!! I use songs that really get me motivated and moving. Also the gym that I work out at has TVs. So I usually watch really bad trashy TV while working out. This also helps...
  • my current kick is 3 oz hummus 1 oz pita half cucumber 6 strawberries 10 cherries It's super healthy, and a great lunch. It's super hot where I am (already summer) and this is cool and refreshing. I am planning on adding 10 olives and some fat free plain yogurt.
  • I love pita bread (pretty low cal) or cucumbers/celery/carrots, etc. I think that some of these other suggestions are good though. Also, hummus is great. Just make sure that you're trying out a good brand. Some of the store-brands are no good, and others are much better (tasting and for you)!.
  • I would suggest looking online. There are some great ones at Champion, Title IX and other underwear websites. Once you have the brand/style, it's easier to find what you like.
  • yes, it's worked for me. Back in end of Feb, I stepped on the scale, and I was at 142. I was eating the right amount of calories and burning enough so that it kept on telling me that if every day was like today I'd be at 134. I weighted myself in the beginning of April, and I was at 134. I didn't keep every single day to…
  • try searching running 5mph (miles per hour) or 6 mph (miles per hour). Those are the numbers for 12-10 minute miles. they are in the database, I use them all the time.
  • I really like adding brown sugar, maple syrup, pumpkin spice mix, dried cherries/blueberries, toasted pecans, walnuts, almonds. Good luck!!
