I started it once. I plan to go through the entire program once other things in my life calm back down

Avocado's are a great source of fiber as well.

@myturn15 - I found a whole wheat wrap that has 13 grams of fiber to wrap my chicken sausage and eggs in in the morning which gives me a good jump start on the day. Oatmeal, sweet potatoes, apples, berries, veggies and nuts make up the rest and if you are struggling with that, you can always use a fiber supplement, like…

I have some info on my blog for macro's... crookedpinkyfitnessandnutrition.wordpress.com, look up the self made post. My guidance is to start at 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat and adjust where you see fit. I have found this keeps me feeling full and energized. I also try to keep 35g+ of fiber intake everyday as well.…

No it does not @mdl2001 . I use an HRM (heart rate monitor) for my lift sessions because they are all different depending on intensity and rests.

I stopped taking hormonal birth control all together last September after taking some sort of the pill for 15 years straight. I just monitor my cycle for ovulation (read the book "Taking Control of Your Fertility"). I never had any issues with weight gain while on the pill but have noticed that I am having a harder time…

I don't keep my phone with me while I work out either. It is my zen time. I write it down and then log it all afterwards.

I would be more concerned about your macro nutrients than your calories. Your body needs protein to grow muscle, but also needs quick carbs for recovery. I lift for 20-30 minutes 4-5 times a week and aim for light cardio a few times a week and I don't adjust my calories.

I don't bother with flavoring my water, but I don't mind plain water. I might put lemon in it occasionally like at a restaurant, but not daily.

Hi AndiJH. I am with you on this goal. I'll send you a friend request.

If you break it down by real actual servings sizes, healthy food is much more affordable. Oatmeal, sweet potatoes, chicken, rice, beans, canned/fresh/frozen veggies... they are just not a convenient as unhealthy food (fast food).

I agree with the above ladies ^^

Thank you woodml1 and 3dogsrunning for your experiences. :)

I was on hormonal birth control the last time I competed and now I am not (only have been off it about 4/5 months, for the first time in 15 years). So I am not sure if it did anything last time. Also, I did talk to my doctor and she suggested that I not go that low on my body fat again... but I have a hard time believing…

I am considering competing again, but not 100% sure yet.

I precook 5 pounds of chicken every weekend and divide into 4oz baggies then put some in the freezer and keep some in the fridge... easy/ quick protien. Also tuna packets are easy to grab and so it greek yogurt.

Apparently there are other ladies that don't like it... me... personally... I think it is sexy as hell! Each to their own, as they say.

Love going out on the boat... but I don't have one personnally. Hopefully in the next year or two I'll get one so I can spend my weekends on the water without having to be invited or ask.

If you like spicy foods try adding a tad bit of red pepper... if you like sweeter add a pinch of cinnamen... sounds weird, but I tried both ways, just to test it out and it wasn't too bad. Good luck!!

Flavored teas... no sweeteners needed! :) Zero calories!

Also up your protein and make sure your carbs are complex... oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice! This will keep you feeling full longer. as well as what Hexahedra said... 5-6 smaller meals a day. Get flavored rice cakes if you need something with a crunch or fresh veggies and fruits. I do much better when I plan and…

Grilled! Cut them into big steak fries, toss in olive oil with a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg. Then place on a low heat grill, turning periodically until they are tender. Can also do the same thing but on a baking sheet in the oven. Absolute heaven... if you ask me! (edit for spelling error)

Food is 80-90% of weight loss. You can't out exercise a bad food plan (I hate the word diet). My ex could eat crap all day long and still wasn't terribly over weight, so I'd just ignore him. LOL! I actually just did a fitness competition because I needed a hard deadline to get my butt in shape (literally). Learning the…
