  • A girl at work was using that and although she lost weight, I overheard her in the work bathroom one day, lets just say it didn't sound good and I felt really bad for her.
  • I hear the Jillian Shred DVD is good but if you have stairs you could just run them. Step ups are great too, really get your heart rate up there.
  • I wear a polar FT4, and am 5' 4", 130 lbs and I burn around 200-210 for 20 minutes of cardio so I don't think your burn rate is completely unreasonable.
  • Feta cheese, I'll even eat a salad if it means I get to put Feta on it :)
  • You may very well have messed up your metabolism. Got to http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ and enter your information, and choose your activity level, then minus about 20% off the calories and eat that amount every single day. It won't be fast and it won't be easy but it will get your metabolism on the way to being…
  • Everyone is always looking for the quick fix, especially after the holidays but the only way to learn how to eat properly is to do it. I've learned so much this past year on MFP that I wouldn't trade it for the loss of a few quick pounds for anything. I think people look for a quick fix because they want the weight loss to…
  • My husband My three beautiful nieces Lobster dipped in lots of butter Ice Cream The beach
  • Wow, you are such an inspiration - great work!
  • If when you get on the treadmill it prompts you to enter your weight I would use that number over the MFP number (the MFP number is grossly inaccurate), that being said, because I wear a heart rate monitor I have noticed all the machines at my gym are off a bit - I usually burn a bit more in an hour than the machines say I…
  • You'll have to experiment to see what works best for you. For instance, if I work out in the morning, I do it "fasted" no food but eat a high protein meal afterwards. At night I tend to have a snack beforehand and protein afterwards. As for weighing in, I pick Saturday morning as my weigh in day, I do it as soon as I get…
  • Your not going to burn a lot of calories doing the weight training machines but you are going to build muscle which in turn will burn more calories at rest. For 45 minutes of cardio though, if you get your heart rate up there you should be burning between 300-400 (depending on your height, weight, and effort). Like was…
  • I always took clean to mean without chemicals. Fresh fruit and veggie and grass fed meats and such. We all have to start somewhere though so as long as she improves as she goes that is all you can hope for. I started this process on Lean Cuisines which I thought were good compared to the crap I was getting at fast food…
  • Expelled all the air in my lungs, crazy but you never know ;)
  • I went thru that for a period of time when I was solely doing cardio and then I started lifting heavy, now I sleep like a baby for about 6 hours and then I'm wide awake. I've been blaming it on pre-menopause but maybe there is some connection to eating right and working out.
  • Greek yogurt perhaps, that would help with healthy gut flora as well. I feel your pain, I had IBS for many years but since eating healthy and working out it is much improved.
  • I wore mine all day once. I found it interesting to see my HR at various times throughout the work day. And yes I've heard they aren't accurate for calorie counting and such. But it did average about 100 calories an hour and at time throughout the day my HR was down to around 75 and other times it went up around 105.…
  • I use this brand as well but the one I get is 130 calories per scoop and 30 grams of protein. I blend it with 12 oz of water, and crushed ice, one tablespoon of peanut butter, two tablespoons of PB2 and a 1/2 banana and it is delicious and keeps me full for 4 hours. I use it when I'm rushed for time. It may not be the…
  • My office is filled with junk food on a daily basis so I pack a bag in the morning. Two large bottles of water, a pack of Trident, my lunch and a snack (apple and almonds). Keeps me from being tempted by the junk. Yes at first it seemed like a lot of work to pre-plan but now it's just a habit.
  • To help you keep this one day in perspective let me share a story with you. Every single Saturday (for the past year) I consume anywhere from 2500-4000 calories (it is my earned day, cheat day, whatever you want to call it) and I am still losing weight and building muscle. One day will not hurt you at all. Keep going.
  • At 20 years old your max HR is around 200 so working it at 180 is fine unless you have heart problems. I'm 47 and run mine around 160 (my max is 174)
  • I didn't mind the taste but it had a ton of carbs compared to regular PB so I just stick with Trader Joe PB, i'd rather eat fat than carbs.
  • I had it done about 2 years ago and haven't had a period since, however, I did still get cramps and such for about 8 months. I am so glad I did it.
  • Start lifting heavy weights now while you are still young. Build as much muscle mass as you possibly can, that will keep your body burning calories at a fast rate as you age.
  • Your diary looks fine to me. Sometimes over time, we get lax with our measurements of food. I know I have and we have to start again being very specific with measurements. My two tablespoons of peanut butter now have reached epic portions and I know I need to be more accurate. Could that be the case with you? Other than…
  • Slowly lower your daily intake of sugar or it will make you crazy. Your body will crave it until you get rid of it. I slowly replaced foods high in sugar to the point now where I am at around 20 grams a day but it's not easy and some days are harder than others. The past two days have been sheer torture but you have to be…
  • I'm 47 years young, if you are interested I wrote out my story in August 2012 http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/685310-from-oct-2011-to-now-and-beyond
  • Don't worry so much about fat intake that you increase your sugar intake by accident. I.e. fat-free foods. I used to keep my fat low and by eating so much fat-free foods I was increasing my sugar inadvertently. Now I eat no fat-free and keep sugar low.
  • I wish I had known that fat doesn't make you fat. I was eating the most disgusting fat-free cheese - blech
