I'm happy for your success, but please be careful. Statistics show that 20% of all running injuries happen within one tenth of a mile from the runner's front door.

Shake it off and just make a change. Guilt is the least productive emotion.

Doing my part to contribute to the roll. OP, keep on fighting the good fight.

A million times, this.

If you are a female at 15% body fat, you should not be trying to lose four more pounds. You are getting very close to an unsusatainably low body fat percentage, which can cause hormonal problems (most notably amenorrhea). I think you need to accept that the number on the scale doesn't matter, and that you are at the…

how often do you eat out? do you weigh all your food? do you take cheat days? how confident are you that you know exactly how much of every thing is going in your mouth?

Joanne Moniz? Is that you??

Dagnabbit! I thought nobody would know if I did that in my closet! All that effort for nothing. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to sprint in the closet?
-
this is nonsense. I do none of these things and I have a flat stomach. OP, reduce your body fat slowly. That is how.

You look like you are at an unhealthy weight. Since that's true, the number doesn't really matter, does it?

pick better friends.

I'm sorry, Fridays are only half-off.

bonding over common interests is kind of supposed to be a good thing. it makes sense to approach someone who you know is interested in getting healthy and fit if that is also an interest of yours. you don't have to be interested, but do recognize that it makes perfect sense.

sometimes I have to resort to peanut butter off the spoon to hit my goal.

go work out?

Maybe she doesn't know the harm it causes? I suggest you send her a few pamphlets on the evils of pastry and perhaps she will reconsider this decision.

really, you need support? to tell you that your tubby coworker hasn't discovered the magical walking secret? alrighty then.

OP, please note that this information comes from someone with IBS, proving that what has been stated before in this thread is true: for someone without significant health problems, protein supplements are completely fine and will cause no harm.

Here's a blog I wrote as an intro to weight lifting: resources, schedules, etc. This pretty much covers everything I would say to you. :) Also, you do not need to do any targeted ab work. I don't, and I have visible abs. BUT if you choose to do abs, 5-10 minutes once or twice a week is more than enough. No need to do an ab…

Here's a new contribution from me :D

Under 20% for women.

Huh? Unless your protein has something weird in it, there is zero reason to discontinue use.

Wow. I'm so sorry that people are treating you like this here. MFP is supposed to be a weight loss support community. Like they say, "it takes a village" to lose the weight. I'm here for you if you want to talk..

I don't do cardio. I eat TDEE-15% and IIFYM. Eating back exercise calories is good, especially because lifting heavy makes you hungry. My legs are starving on deadlift day. To lose weight, if you eat 2000 to maintain, cut off 250 to 500 cals, so between 1500 and 1750. ETA: IIFYM is really easy. Eat at least 1g protein per…

Yup. OP, eat about 1850-1950 calories per day and you will lose weight and be more healthy. Also eat back exercise calories, especially if you are doing cardio workouts that burn over 200 calories.

Neither sugar nor fat are evil. The end.

I like this. Thank you. I'll play around with it, design a program, and run it by you for feedback.

Thanks so much for your advice, Sara. I will spend the rest of the year finding and sitting and maintenance and gaining my strength back. Should I wait to bulk until I have regained my strength equal to what it was previously, or until I have surpassed it? I'm hoping that in January I can bulk, that way I can still be…
