A calorie deficit will produce weight loss. Track your food by weighing and measuring everything, all the time. That's all there is to it. Choose whichever form of exercise you most enjoy, as it will not really contribute to your weight loss but will be crucial to your long-term adherence.

http://www.powerliftingtowin.com/powerlifting-programs/ This is my go-to for assessing various programs based on goals. You can find some interesting stuff in here. The reviews are written from the perspective of a powerlifter, but if your goals are not so traditional-strength-only oriented that's ok too because there are…

It depends on how much/how that much affects you; it isn't inherently good or bad. It's the whole point of a pre-workout supp. Personally, I always drink coffee before I go to the gym.
-
This is my go-to as well. Bonus: they make my butt look awesome.

With only 8-10 lbs to lose, you really should be eating more like TDEE-10%. Additionally, two weeks isn't long enough to see any kind of trend. Give it 6 weeks before evaluating.

The fact that someone lifts doesn't mean that he/she does not also believe it isn't effective for weight loss. The OP is completely wrong, but so is your logic.
-
OP claims to have logged accurately every day and all of you believe her? Check her diary. A month or more is incomplete or missing. OP, the key is consistency and accuracy. Merely owning an account on MFP is not enough; you have to put in the work. Your logging is the problem. Good news, it is a way easier fix than having…

I died. Best post in here. But yeah, everyone has already covered it: OP completely missed the point and took way too much time doing so.

Very well said

You are mistaking facts with fads. Just because people no longer carry chocolate milk at the gym doesn't mean that its macros have changed so that it is no longer a good recovery drink.

Two suggestions: 1) study this video for form. I watch it every few months just as a refresher and i always get something out of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMAiNQJ6FPc&list=PLNhFKPjedRnRrgZbcM1TbI7YTD0pxqMgH 2) Buy fractional plates. You can buy them in 0.25 lb increments. I bought mine from Amazon and I just take…

You need to try different things until you find something you enjoy. Enjoyment is the key to adherence. keep in mind that enjoyment might not be immediate. Give yourself enough tries to get comfortable and progress a bit and see how you like it. Also, if you don't like whatever it is that you are trying, the idea of doing…

Good for you!! Ignore the haters, girl. I feel that emotions are an excellent basis for solid, rational decision making!

People who don't care don't have to be hurtful to prove anything. They're busy not caring.

The word "snub" implies an insult. So yes. Rude. It is also rude to judge someone else's apology. That's a rabbit hole you don't want to go down unless you're prepared for what it means.

Eat more. Net doesn't matter. If you've burned the calories it's as though you never ate them. I know a woman who was exercising, breastfeeding, and losing on well over 3500 calories a day. Seriously. Eat more.

NO, I DON'T KNOW! TELL ME!
-
It's a common confusion. :flowerforyou: Just remember that strength gains and mass gains are two different things. Gaining muscle means gaining actual mass.
-
Gaining muscle is not the same thing as gaining strength. When people say you can't gain muscle that means you can't gain actual muscle mass. Your body will get smaller if you are eating at a deficit. But you CAN get stronger. Much, much stronger. And your existing muscle mass will become much firmer as you train it, which…

Of course her protein is low--her everything is low! She's not eating enough. To sustain LBM and improve body composition, more protein is definitely a plus. However, the OP's concern is energy. Protein isn't a primary source of energy, so your suggestion is at best tangential to the point at hand.
-
Eating back burned calories. At least 50% of them.

I go trail running by myself all the time, up to 11 miles all alone. People are out there minding their own business. Nobody ever bothers me, except on occasion to ask for directions. Tell the boyfriend you are not a victim.
