EDIT: Didn't see you explain yourself. I do think that most people who are eating 1200 are undereating. While this will not cause "starvation mode" wouldn't you agree that it is ideal to lose weight slowly and to eat as many calories as you can while still losing weight?

The estimations on MFP are accurate for some, but not most. You're one of the special ones:).
-
I'm not sure what you're eating, but getting enough calories is definitely related to energy levels. Are you getting enough calories in your day? Also it seems like you might be biting off a bit much. I understand wanting to make a lifestyle change, but how quickly are you wanting to achieve these goals? I might try to…

Not a low carber, but I wanted to say that I think that the mentality of "burning" calories, carbs, etc, off is dangerous. You should really strive for a consistent diet from day to day.
-
Easy to eat calorie dense foods do not always equal calorie dense foods. Thanks for your help.
-
I'm not really sick like fever and throwing up, I just don't have an appetite and have general malaise. I don't really feel like I have an excuse to not eat.
-
I could get by on 800 some days, but I want consistency and to preserve muscle mass.
-
Probably ice cream. lol. I might make a chicken sandwich minus the bacon (saturated fats)

Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip. Am I the only one who doesn't care for Ben & Jerry's?

Sugar isn't great for diabetics, but I think what this poster was saying is that diabetics often try to project their diabetes onto everyone. Since sugar isn't good for them they think that sugar is the devil for everyone.

This. Black coffee is the only coffee.

Uh oh. Looks like Leo is sabotaging yall.

My wife is totally supportive, but my MFP friends sabotage me by posting pictures of pizza and ice cream. ISN'T THIS A FITNESS WEBSITE??!?!?!

Honestly as long as you are losing you're doing great. Make sure to weigh everything accurately. http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ This has been invaluable to me. ETA: kind of seems like a mild case of undereat/overtrain. I would imagine you're probably eating at least 1000 under your TDEE which isn't good.
-
Leads to eating back too many calories. Not recommended. Use TDEE - instead. With a potential for water toxicity... I don't think so. Drink when you're thirsty. Make sure your hydrated. Make sure your urine is a light color. No. Eat 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass. If you don't know your body fat % you can do .8g…

Are you eating back your exercise calories? How many calories per day? Are you measuring everything?
-
If you're trying to maintain it is critically important. I would even eat a little over to help build muscle.
-
What is your fiber intake? Why do you think you need more fiber?
-
New one to me. I would think that people with peanut sensitivities would be less affected by PB2. Anyone wanna tell me why not?
-
Man, between that sugar study and this I think I'll start reading the daily mail for nutrition advice. THANKS BRITAINS
-
Ech. I can only imagine the bloating I would get from an additional 20g of fiber. Might be good for some people, I guess, but I wonder if those who rely on Quest bars for fiber are meeting their micronutrient requirements. I mix my protein with almond milk, so that's an extra 30 calories. Totally doable. And I don't (and I…

Men can eat soy. Can't we put this ridiculous myth to rest already? ETA: TOO MUCH soy can mess with your cycle if you are female.

I really don't need to post a link to backup everything I say. Metabolic adaptation actually occurs both ways. If you are a couch potato eating 400 calories per day you will adapt to that. If you are the same couch potato you could theoretically slowly work your way up to maintaining on 10000 calories.
-
...Are you kidding? I can... but seriously?
-
If you can't eat enough calories on keto you shouldn't be doing keto. Long term you're looking at severe metabolic adaptation. Unless you want to maintain at 900 calories eat more carbs.
-
So true. The yolk is my favorite part of the egg, but I have been instructed to restrict egg yolks because of my cholesterol. OP I forgot about gluten meal. Again almost pure protein and easy to make into fake meats.
-
Egg whites are basically pure protein. Chicken, turkey, lean beef, tuna, protein shakes. All yummy and all high protein. ETA: Any protein bar you get (or all that I have seen) have massive amounts of sugar which makes them more of a carb source than a protein source. Not bad in and of itself, but they aren't really a…

I hate Dallas, but I love Oak Cliff (where I live). :) Saw you in another thread talking about Spiral Diner. I used to live around the corner from the one in OC when my wife was vegetarian, and it was pretty much a saving grace for me as a meat eater.

I would average the two. I'm not a big fan of eating back exercise calories. Your protein, fat, and fiber will always be constant. Just adjust the carbs for more/less calories, and remember you can really always go over on protein, fat, or fiber as long as you take the calories from carbs. If you're going to be jumping…
